I was promised my bond refund by December 12, but it hasn't been returned, and my inquiries are being ignored. The bond was not lodged with the appropriate authority, which is against the law in this region. I've had to escalate the issue to the relevant consumer protection agency and tribunal. After sharing my experience on social media, several other tenants reached out to me privately, sharing similar issues. I also entered into a minimum 90-night lease, yet the landlord later claimed they could reclaim the property at any time, which contradicts the agreement I signed. Given my experience, I would strongly advise anyone thinking about renting from this service to conduct thorough research and safeguard themselves.
I had a very negative experience with this service and would strongly caution others before renting through them. I was contacted at 1:00 AM and pressured to vacate the property, which is completely unacceptable and distressing. Contacting a tenant at such an hour shows a serious lack of professionalism and respect. Additionally, the rent was increased in an unreasonable manner, while the advertised price on their website remained unchanged. This felt misleading and unfair. Throughout my stay, they attempted to impose excessive and unjustified fees, often without clear explanations or transparent breakdowns. The overall experience was stressful, confusing, and poorly managed. Communication was often intimidating rather than supportive, and the process lacked transparency. Based on my experience, I do not consider this platform to be trustworthy or tenant-focused. I recommend anyone considering renting through them to carefully review all terms, document everything, and proceed with extreme caution.
Beware, they won’t return your bond. For international students, bad reviews are everywhere. I am highlighting a concerning practice that is worsening the rental crisis in this region. An entity is renting entire apartments and illegally subletting individual rooms without the landlord’s consent. They are not based locally, do not hold a valid license, and operate outside the scope of rental regulations. Their business model involves leasing properties at low rates and then charging exorbitant prices for each room—often far above market value. This not only violates tenancy laws but also worsens housing affordability issues for genuine renters. I plan to report this activity to the relevant authorities soon.
I moved out on November 3rd and am still waiting for my deposit. They informed me that I won’t receive it until February 3rd. During my stay, they also scheduled viewings with little to no notice. Moreover, in winter, when there were vacant rooms, they failed to pay for internet (which got cut off) and water (unpaid notices arrived by mail). I would not recommend them.
I was supposed to receive my bond back by December 12, but it still hasn't been returned, and my messages are being ignored. I had a very disappointing experience with this service. The property I rented was in unacceptable condition: visible mold on the walls, holes in the walls, cockroaches everywhere, and dirty bedding. Even basic essentials such as clean sheets and a blanket were missing. When I raised these issues, I was told to buy my own bedding with a capped budget — completely unreasonable for a paid rental. The response was dismissive, and they refused to take responsibility for the mold and property damage, claiming “this is the current condition of the property.” Also, the last two days, the wifi wasn’t working at all, and they didn’t assist with that either.
Answer: a total scam. Rental agreements must align with the law. They present themselves as a platform connecting “Guests with Hosts,” but in reality, they lease several properties and sublet the rooms directly. If issues arise, they shift responsibility onto the so-called “host” and avoid accountability—especially regarding bond refunds and tenancy obligations. This is ridiculous and greedy. They should consider getting a real job instead of trying to take advantage of others. I am bringing attention to a concerning practice that is contributing to the rental crisis in this region. My experience with this service was terrible. From the first moment I tried to contact them regarding my rent questions, their answers were vague, but I decided to ignore that red flag. Upon arrival, the room was clean, but the common areas (which are supposed to be cleaned regularly) were dusty and clearly never cleaned. When I made my first payment, they charged me twice because they debited it to a card I never authorized. Resolving this issue involved rude behavior and took a month. Even when I requested compensation, they did so reluctantly. It took almost two months to return my deposit because they couldn't contact the landlord. Additionally, during my stay, I was locked out of the apartment for hours due to malfunctioning locks. Although it was more of a building issue, it's unbelievable that they wouldn’t take action.
