Just submitted my final assessment for CIPD level 5. Being a new online learner the experience was daunting and overwhelming at first. Thanks to my tutor I was given the confidence and assurance to manage the course. Loretta McKay , our tutor for the cohort was excellent. A simplistic and effective approach from Loretta meant I was able to successfully complete the course. Excellent tutor sessions and regular intervals and support when you needed it most. Thank you Loretta. Thank you Avado.
Just completed my Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship with Arch and it has been a smooth journey. My LDC, Perran James, was always available for support and questions. They played a key role in my success as an apprentice and caused me no problems.
I have just submitted my last assignment for this and wanted to note the experience I've had. The course was a lot more than I anticipated but this was good as it really pushed me and I got a lot out of it. It was the first time I'd also done an online course, and again, it didn't take long to adapt to, and the ease of being able to study when it suited me was a bonus. I wanted to also highlight our wonderful tutor, Loretta McKay who has been exceptional throughout, providing guidance, support, encouragement and clarity throughout the journey. A* tutor who got me through the course.
I’ve had one of the worse experiences with Avado so far!I’ve registered to do a course with Avado to help me do my job and hopefully have a long career as I don’t have any qualifications related directly to my job. Unfortunately due the virus I lost my job in March, which is when my course was supposed to start! Frazzled and trying to get everything sorted quickly I completely forgot to cancel my course. When I sent emails to cancel Avado informed that I have to pay the course in FULL, despite the fact that I attended no classes and used no materials! I hadn’t even logged on the platform!! Now with no job, Avado has asked me to pay £100 to “halt” the process of raising the issue to a debt collection agency. For someone where their job depended mainly on bonuses and commission it is very difficult to make ends meet, still pay rent, bills and food. For a company who had to let go some of their employees you’d think that a global health crisis would be basis to contract termination!I completely understand having to lose a deposit or paying an instalment, but paying for the full course which I did not use not once for a job I no longer have seems opportunistic, unpleasant and discourteous! I 100% do not recommend you use Avado unless you’re sure no other crisis would ever hit the world again!
Overall the course and tutors are great and the learning is excellent. The problem I had was when I moved from bookkeeping level 2 to the full level 2 qualification. I lost access for a while and it took student services a while to get me my dashboard running correctly. That meant I was 3 months behind and ended up with 2 different tutors in that time.
My overall experience has been fantastic, from signing up, to completion of my final essay. Easy to follow, can complete in own time, lots of support from tutors. There are the obvious issues when self-learning online, however 9/10 for for the VLC (Virtual Learning Campus)
