Reborn dolls are handmade art made by artists and CAN NOT BE FACTORY PRODUCED. They are usually found on reborns.com and can also be purchased through the artists' online stores directly (nurseries), through artists' personal or doll/nursery pages on Facebook where you can see all their previous work or through many Facebook groups and pages and at doll conventions such as Dolls of The World Expo in North Carolina, USA. Incomplete crafting "kits" to create original reborns can also be purchased from REPUTABLE online stores such as Macphersons or Bountiful Baby. There is a large price range depending on the quality of the doll, the sculpt used and the experience of the artist; they can sell anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars. Reborns will NEVER be sold on Amazon, Shein, Temu, or mass-produced retail platforms.This sorry excuse of a company is STEALING art (sculpts of babies, some are real infants) from their original sculptors. The artists Bonnie Brown, Nikki Johnston, and Joanna Kamierczak are the most notable that have been the victims of this major crime. Their precious work, time, and money has been taken away due to evil manufacturers such as Babeside. Not only is this HIGHLY ILLEGAL, Babeside is proved to have mass produced illegal molds with toxic materials! That’s right, they test high in lead and other carcinogens, not to mention the baby dolls are not true vinyl, and for them to be marketed to CHILDREN is inexcusable. They should be prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law. And in terms of affordability, you can always go to reborns.com (the *only* reputable reborn doll site) and search in your price range. ‘Playborns’ exist for children; they are lightly weighted, less hyper realistic than collector's reborns and are generally fair-priced. Even with a play born, you will receive a higher quality, handcrafted doll with love and hard work.UNLIKE BABESIDE. Shop safe, shop ethically, and please support small artists. Their time and love that goes into creating babies is beyond worth it, I promise you.
My daughter absolutely loves her reborn doll from Bebeside! She renamed her doll "Grace" and Grace has a heartbeat, breathes (her stomach moves up and down) and she cries and talks! My daughter loves being able to calm Grace when she's crying by saying "I'm here" and Grace responds back to her! My daughter's favorite phrase is when Grace says, "I love you mom!"
Our daughter is 4 and has always loved being a "mummy". We splurge purchased the Drink and Wet System Babeside Nancy 12" doll with a few extra accessories and will put it under the tree for Christmas. Upon arrival i had a look and she is beautiful, and so realistic. We can't wait to see her face when she opens her!
