The BBB is funded by annual subscriptions from businesses, thus their is a major conflict of interest.

I've filed multiple complaints with the BBB of Los Angeles & Silicon Valley against eBay. They are all marked as duplicate and immediately closed, without actually be read at all.

As a 27 year seller on eBay I could easily file 50 different complaints covering 50 different areas of eBay corrupt business practices.

Do not waste your time with BBB.

You can compare the BBB rating to the Good House Keeping rating. A company would get the Good House Keeping rating if they paid a fee to the magazine and advertised in the magazine.

They should have their nonprofit status revoked.

Disappointment with Warranty Service and Lack of Support

I am incredibly frustrated with the customer service I received regarding a warranty replacement. Over two months ago, I reached out about getting a replacement, and I was assured I would receive a specific model. Instead, I was sent a different model without my approval. When I sought assistance to rectify this mistake, I was informed that the correct model was out of stock, yet it is still available for purchase online, which makes this explanation unacceptable. Since then: • I have contacted customer support several times • Representatives disconnected the call while I was speaking • I was repeatedly denied the opportunity to speak with a manager • I sent multiple follow-up emails with no replies This matter should be entirely covered under warranty, yet the company is unwilling to address their error. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and communication is astonishing for a well-regarded business. I am still awaiting the originally promised model.

I filed a clear-cut case of "bait and switch" and insurance over-collection ($1,400) against Reno Smiles Dentistry. Instead of facilitating a resolution, the Mountain West BBB acted as a gatekeeper for the corporation.
The BBB allowed the business to hide behind corporate maneuvers and HIPAA stall tactics. Even after I provided the requested releases, the BBB refused to publish the damning evidence I submitted. They cycled through a series of shifting excuses—claiming "personal information" violations on documents that are not published and standard for such disputes—to ensure the public never sees the actual complaint nor the truth.
Ultimately, the BBB protected the business's reputation by refusing to publish the complaint details, merely dropping their rating from an A+ to an A-. This is a toothless "penalty" that does nothing to protect consumers. The BBB provides a deceptive service; they don't resolve complaints—they bury them.

This service has been incredibly frustrating. I can't even submit my report because their server is constantly down. I'm trying to dispute an investigation, but their system is making it impossible.
