Well LIAM, referring to your reply last December....your company still insists on calling me a liar

Well LIAM, referring to your reply last December....your company still insists on calling me a liar and a thief. It's now 3 months and still none of your misleading resolution claims. This is an important review and they will keep on coming until Berghaus behaves with some honesty and respect.

No issues. Easy to use website. Kept informed. Arrived in satisfactory time. Love the orange fleece.

No issues. Easy to use website. Kept informed. Arrived in satisfactory time. Love the orange fleece. Bought in sale, as a present for a friend. Disappointed didn't have my size left. Got distracted and none left. Lovely orange beanie. Again bought as a present. Would buy both again. Like the pocket in the jumper. Find it useful for storing keys.

I purchased this Berghaus Meru jacket as a replacement for my 1990 Berghaus jacket.
I am impressed with the quality and fit of this Meru jacket. It fits well and feels premium quality to the touch. As of yet I have not tried it in the rain so cannot comment on the waterproof qualities. It has two outside pockets and one zipped inner pocket.

My only slight reservation about the Meru jacket is that the hood no longer packs away into the collar as it did on my last Berghaus jacket. Yes, the hood does roll up and it has a retaining strap and a snap fastener to keep it rolled up but it is not such a neat and elegant design as on my last Berghaus jacket where the hood could be very neatly and quickly rolled into the collar and it disappeared, leaving a stylish jacket with no apparent hood.

That said, I still like the overall style and look of this Meru jacket and I have high hopes for it’s longevity because my last Berghaus jacket gave me over thirty years faithful service before the zip finally broke.

Significant concern regarding my recent order.

I am facing a major issue with a recent order. I had returned a coat and received a credit to my account, which was a satisfactory outcome. However, an order placed on December 4th has still not been dispatched as of December 11th. This is worrying, as I need this order for an upcoming trip. Additionally, I received an email suggesting a potential extra week of delay. This delay might force me to make an additional purchase of a coat, leading to an unexpected cost of £200. This situation is especially frustrating since I used account credit to avoid further spending.

Very pleased with my purchase!

I am extremely satisfied with my purchase; the quality is outstanding, and I got it at a great price during a promotion. For a coat of similar quality, I would expect to pay around £300, but I only spent about £130. The delivery was prompt, and I would definitely recommend this brand to others.

Order issues with my jacket

I ordered a jacket on the 23rd of November, expected delivery a few days later. After several inquiries, I was told it was lost in transit and another would be sent. Later, I was informed the order had not been processed, and then that the product was out of stock. I agreed to wait, but then I received an email saying my order was canceled! I had to follow up each time with no proactive communication from the company. Terrible service and a huge waste of time.

Great products but slow delivery

The products are fantastic, but the delivery service is lacking. I paid for next-day delivery, yet it took five days. I would recommend avoiding the extra cost for faster delivery.

  • In 1966, outdoor wear as we know it didn’t really exist. Then, Berghaus came along.

Born in the North East of England from a single idea by Peter Lockey and Gordon Davison, Berghaus started selling quality outdoor gear in 1966 from a small shop called the LD Mountain Centre in Newcastle, UK.

It’s been our goal to make proper gear packed with innovation from the beginning. Our founders quickly gained a reputation for selling the best outdoor wear the industry had to offer, including products like Atomic Skis, Marker Bindings and Nordica Ski. They were also the first to bring the iconic SCARPA walking boot to the UK market.

The natural next step for Lockey and Davison was to make their own gear. Soon, they began to design, test and create brand new outdoor wear, inspired by what climbers actually wanted and needed. And so, Berghaus was born.See more
