Review Time
We joined onto the BlueSky Acatenango hike after a friend we’d made earlier in our travels had told us he had booked with them and for us to join. We are so glad that we did as BlueSky were fantastic! The guides were absolutely brilliant, great at looking after everyone, making sure we were safe, helping when anyone struggled with the altitude, and generally just great to spend time with and good senses of humour.
The briefing before was very comprehensive, and the equipment was decent (and well provided as definitely needed). We had everything we needed and were in great hands from start to finish!
The hike itself is incredible, seeing Fuego constantly erupting was unreal, and the summit was magical. It’s a challenge and tough at times but so worth it and loads of fun! I’d recommend BlueSky to anyone doing this hike and we really liked their ethics and working with local women and general community too.

We had a great experience doing the group tour. The base camp is at an amazing spot with direct view to Fuego. We felt informed and save both before, during and after the trip. The guides were professional and extremely helpful. One of us suffered a bit with the altitude and one of the 3 guides waited the whole time to make sure we would get there - even though the rest of the group was ahead. No rush, just letting us do it at a comfortable pace. And you can rent all the equipment you need at a reasonable price. We highly recommend using this company!
Amazing experience with Blue Sky on the Acatenango hike. The company was very professional, the guides were incredibly kind and caring, always making sure everyone was okay. The accommodation was great and the views from the cabins were absolutely stunning. I’m very satisfied and love the idea behind this project. Highly recommend!
