Review Time
This is a review of the Bodum Melior electric pour over kettle. This kettle was purchased at Wal-Mart for $29.98US. It has a usable capacity of 800ml or 27 liquid ounces. It came with a matt black finish which is both stylish and seems to be durable. A cork pouring handle and a cork lid knob also add to its stylish appearance but am not sure of their durability however they made handling this kettle comforting. The kettle fits onto a round plastic base that houses both the electric cord and the connection to the heating element inside the kettle.
Inside the kettle there is a vent tube which also has a tag indicating the maximum fill line. On the outside of the kettle there is a plastic lever that is the on/off switch it also sports a red indicator light which glows when the heating is on. This is a basic kettle and has no adjustment for temperature, it will heat water to boiling then automatically shut off. The kettle has a goose neck spout and a 1000 watt heating element and a three prong power cord.
In operation the kettle will bring a full kettle of water (800ml) to a boil in under two minutes. This kettle is made specifically for pour over coffee and the goose neck spout not only makes the kettle an elegant work of art it also allows you to accurately pour a precise stream of hot water over your coffee grounds. The cork handle also affords you a comfortable steady grip on the kettle.
To date and after almost a year of use this kettle has performed as advertised and I have found it to be a pleasure to use however knowing how Bodum electrics typically have a short service life and Bodum has a tendency to not stand behind their written warranties, I can not recommend this product. Knowing this who is this kettle for someone looking for a stylish addition to their pour over coffee equipment at a more than reasonable price as a beginner, interim or stepping stone purchase to better equipment.
Contacted them over a leaking goose neck kettle ( many other people with same issue) said they would respond, then never heard from them again, dreadful customer service, did not expect this from what I thought would be a reputable, trustworthy company. Very disappointed
All products I've bought are excellently designed and perform flawlessly. Each item works as it should, and I found them to be reasonably priced. The ordering process and delivery service were outstanding. I highly recommend this company.
I received no feedback from the support team. The shipping took so long that I will no longer be at my original address. There was no shipping estimate given, and my package is still in processing without any updates. I will not be ordering from this service again.
I'm very unhappy! It's been a week since I ordered the coffee maker, and I still haven't received it! When I check the delivery company's site, my parcel has been stuck in one location since December 4th. This is not the service I anticipated.
I placed an order and quickly realized I was being charged for shipping, while another service offered the same products with free shipping. I sent a support email asking for a refund, but received no response. I got an email with an invoice and then, a week later, the items arrived. I feel completely overlooked.
