This airport is genuinely the worst. There’s no public transport available, making access a nightmare. Although there’s a coach station nearby, the only destinations are limited to a few major cities, with no direct services to the airport. The irony is that there are signs for buses, yet none actually service this airport. It seems determined to keep its status as the worst airport.
This airport is truly the worst. There’s no public transport available, which is a disaster. There is a coach station nearby, but the destinations are limited to a few places like London and Gatwick. However, you won't find any buses going to the airport itself. The irony is evident—there’s a sign for buses, yet none serve this airport. It seems intent on maintaining its title as the worst airport.
We had to wait for 5 hours due to a delay, which wasn’t the issue. The real problem was the awful background music playing non-stop for that entire time. Imagine being subjected to your least favorite tunes for 5 hours straight. It seems no one considers the discomfort of unwanted noise in a public space. Wake up, airport management!
I’ve been lucky to fly from this airport twice recently, both times with a great airline. However, as has been frequently mentioned, the facilities are lacking. The parking layout is outdated; why can’t there be a drop-off area right by the entrance? Instead, passengers have to trudge across a gravel lot in any weather. Leaving the airport is even worse, especially in the rain, with no shelter while waiting for a taxi. The terminal needs improvement, particularly the restroom facilities, which are subpar. First impressions matter, and these are certainly not good.
I’ve always enjoyed flying from my local airport, but since the expansion of operations, it has struggled. With four flights leaving within 45 minutes, the airport is overwhelmed and operating beyond capacity. There are not enough staff or restroom facilities, and security is understaffed as well. The parking fees are excessive, and there’s no regular bus service to or from the airport. Management seems more focused on profit than on providing adequate services, and staff wages appear to be low.
The airport is nice, but I had an unfortunate encounter with a staff member who made a derogatory comment as I was about to walk through security with my phone in my pocket. Her lack of professionalism was disappointing and suggests a need for better training in customer service.
The airport is in transition, but the temporary facilities are poorly designed. There are open areas without cover that can be problematic in bad weather. The food options are limited and overpriced, and service is lacking. With the increase in flights, the airport is struggling with scheduling conflicts and overwhelmed facilities. It would be better if airlines considered using other nearby airports.
While my flying experience was good, the parking situation was a disaster. The gravel bays are poorly designed, and the narrow lanes make it difficult to navigate. I eventually found a spot, but leaving was a nightmare, with long wait times in queues. If the airport is going to charge high prices, it needs to improve the parking infrastructure significantly.
Flying from this airport left me with mixed feelings. While it’s convenient, the experience at the restaurant was disappointing. The drink selection was limited, and our meals took too long to arrive and were cold. After losing confidence in the restaurant, we opted for a café where the food was also underwhelming. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend dining at the airport before a flight.
