Horse did not match description, was dangerous and unrideable. Return was straight forward but getting money back was difficult. Seller was dishonest. Please dont support this business which needs closing down as horses are suffering.
Wonderful experience. Lynn was entirely open and honest about all of the horses that I enquired about and really listened to my requirements. She was quick to respond and easy and straightforward to deal with. The two week sale or return was an incredible service and really allowed my horse to settle and be tested in my own environment, which could never be replicated at someone else’s property in the same way. Lynn has kept an open line of communication andIs always happy to receive contact and responsive to updates. Almost three years on and I would go to her again and recommend.
Please check out Facebook for review of how this dealer works, if i could a minus rating i would.. , 'Broadhills stables/Lynn Robertson beware", over 1000 negative reviews. Sends out unsuitable and dangerous horses, most with physical and emotional scars. Difficult getting money back when horses returned. READ REVIEWS ON FACEBOOK FIRST.
Purchased a pony for our daughter, 7.5k with a trial so can return within 2 weeks so sounded like a good idea! After deciding the pony wasn’t for us, straight away I knew it was going to be a problem getting our money back. Refused to speak on the phone could only text and we got 18 seperate excuses for why we wouldn’t be getting our money back within the contracted 10 days! We got our money back in dribs and drabs and it seems we were one of the lucky ones! There is a FB page created with 1.6k members and calculated over 200k owed to somePoor people she has scammed! She is a massive fraudster so stay clear!
Bought a horse in November 2025 from Lynn Robertson trading as Broadhill Stables. He was not safe when ridden and returned. It took weeks of messaging and getting obviously fictitious excuses to get my money back, which came in numerous separate payments. I have since discovered that she sold him again to someone else before he had left me, and then again whilst I was still awaiting a refund. One buyer never received the horse, and is still out of pocket. Lynn Robertson had by then had detailed accounts from several of us about the horse's dangerous behaviour when ridden and yet still took money for him claiming he was suitable for a buyer's child to ride. If I had known she sends horses out on repeated trials from which they are returned I would never have considered buying from her, it makes any behaviour issues the horses have many times worse. She has a number of CCJs against her for failing to refund customers. She is very active in getting negative reviews taken down.
Bought a horse from here. Completely NOT as described. Put me in hospital with a dislocated hip and a fractured pelvis. I had to arrange return while in hospital and chased to get money refunded. I’ve subsequently learned of several more people who had exactly the same thing (with the same horse) and plenty more with other horses too. I would not recommend.
Lynn Robertson of Broadhill Stables sells horses that have physical and and other health issues. Whilst there may be some good horses that pass through her hands, there appear to be many more dangerous horses, some of which so dangerous to ride that they have put their riders in hospital with serious injuries, the description Lynn uses to describe some of the horses are at best a stretch of the truth and at worst downright lies. Lynn lied to me about health issues on a horse I took on trial, which meant I had to return her. Getting a refund is a stressful long process which Lynn will lie to you time and time again. Lynn insists on the full amount of the cost of the horse in a single payment but when it comes back to you as a refund (after much begging and daily requests to find out when the money is going to be refunded) it will come back in small amounts Lynn will always blame the banks. Some are still awaiting refunds. Stay clear
Possible fraudulent & definitely irresponsible business practices of Lynn Robertson at Broadhill Stables. She has a number of active CCJ’s & sums well in excess of £200k owed to persons missold. A quick search on Facebook at Lynn Robertson Broadhill Stables Buyer Beware will tell you everything you need to know. Run for the hills…
I am sharing my experience with Broadhill Stables to assist others in their due diligence. After paying in full for a horse, delivery was delayed with several different explanations provided. The day before the rescheduled delivery, I was informed of a significant health issue and was sent the horse's veterinary history. Consequently, the sale did not proceed. The refund process was not straightforward. Despite the statutory requirement for a full and immediate refund when a contract is terminated, my funds were returned over several weeks in multiple instalments. This process required constant monitoring and chasing.I have formally reported this experience to Trading Standards as a matter of unfair business practice. I encourage anyone else who has experienced similar issues regarding instalment based refunds to report their case as well, so that a clear pattern of conduct can be established for the regulatory authorities.
