probably the worst and laziness and worst background check ever they should be sued for laziness.. as an applicant i had to fill out my own form because they are too lazy to do it when its THEIR JOB TOO to look it up.. due to this poor half assed check i nearly didnt get my job because their forms are a joke and no communication to the candidate... beyond lazy no matter how cheap they are DO NOT USE THEM they have 92% 1 star score here on trust pilot what does that tell you? thats not one person putting that many bad reviews thats legit how bad they are
I had a very disappointing experience with Checkr’s customer support while trying to run a background check for a new hire.
Each time I responded, a new document was requested instead of clearly explaining what would actually satisfy their requirements. The process felt inefficient, slow, and unnecessarily complicated.
Communication was minimal and unhelpful, and the turnaround time to move things forward was poor. For a company that specializes in background checks and employer onboarding, I expected a much smoother verification process.
Unfortunately, I ended up requesting a refund because the experience became too time-consuming.
This background check service is the worst. They initially said they couldn't obtain my driving record, even after I provided it. My record is clean, yet my background check has been pending for three months for a position. This is by far the most frustrating experience I've encountered. I strongly advise avoiding this service.
Got my background check done by Checkr and Uber immediately disabled my account. I looked at Checkr's report and it said I have a Driving Under Suspension on my background check. I went to the DMV and was told that it isn't on my driving record and Checkr did not get that information from them and I ended up paying for my own abstract driving record for the last 3 years and it doesn't show Driving Under Suspension on my driving record. They tell me it can take up to 30 days to dispute their background check findings, so now I am out of work because they cannot perform an accurate background check. How is this company still in business? How many people have they screwed over?
I was a police officer in training. I arrested people. I took them to jail. Wrote reports. Parted ways with the department on good terms. It just wasnt the job for me. Moving onto other things and Im stuck with this company holding me underwater with no one to talk to but Ai. Of course, the first thing they did was make it clear to my current job that I maybe quitting. Now Im stuck with ans awkward wait to see when I can put in my 2 weeks while I lose money because they dont know if Im staying or for how long. My boss at my current job also thought someone stole my identity when they got the message from them. Making me face homelessness again, but now with no net. How does it take so long to do a background check when there is a phonebook worth of background information on me?
Checkr pulled my driving record even though I never applied for a job, never authorized a background check, and haven’t been employed in years due to disability. I received an official notice from my state DOT showing that Checkr (under a different name/address) requested my information without my consent. That is a serious red flag.After researching, I found countless complaints of Checkr mixing up identities, sending incorrect records to employers, and causing people to lose opportunities due to their sloppy matching system. It’s beyond concerning that they can access sensitive information with no verification and no transparency.Checkr desperately needs regulation, accountability, and a consent-based verification system. People’s identities are not toys. Their system is careless, their practices are questionable, and their impact on people’s lives is unacceptable.
I don’t know what kind of company this checkr crap I’ve been doing Instantcart for over 6 years never had any issues I work really hard for them until yesterday those checkrs people went send them inaccurate information makes them deactivated my account the only job have to pay rent pay for food without thinking they went and sent wrong information to my job didn’t check if it’s correct or not they sent I freaking hate this company they should stop doing whatever they are doing doesn’t help those that are struggling out here I sent them correct information from the court from judge that there’s been a mistake they need to fix it I was told they will do something in 30 to 45 days how I’m doing to feed myself or pay for rent jobs companies are not taking any chances on me right now 😭 I hope this company got shut down day one
Incompetent and UnprofessionalI would give this company 0 stars. You provide them with EVERYTHING before submitting, and they still delay. I provided them with every W2 and 1099 Form for each job each year along with validating with the payroll (ADP, Workday, Gusto). It claims to pull data from that API, but that data pulled is wrong or incomplete. When they call for employment verification, they have called in early morning hours like 4AM (CST). Customer Support is non existent, they have a useless chatbot that will give you a template of answers. I can't even call it Ai, because Ai has at least more options. This is just programmed on a limited basis. My original submission date was 10/14/2025. It's now 10/27/2025, and no progress. You see the status bar almost done, then suddenly prolong it further. I was hired 10/10/2025. However, my job (or now potential, tentative employer) cannot proceed with onboarding me because of Checkr. It's possible that my offer will be rescinded due to delays. Checkr not only needs to be investigated. The entire C-Suite Leadership needs to be gutted out and replaced. Company inefficiency comes from the top. Or, they need to go out of business where employers/companies can use better verification services. They also need to be held liable for loss wages on gig workers and job denials for those of us severely affected by the incompetence of Checkr. In this economy and tight job market, we can't afford to be victims of the poor/lack of service of this company.
