Review Time
This was my very first experience purchasing silver coins from Bullion Mart. I did a google search, and they were one business that came up. I went onto their website, and found a coin I was interested in. I placed an order into my cart. I wasn't sure I wanted to go ahead with the order, so I kept shopping. I went back to their website, and decided to place an order, and make a purchase. The only reason I didn't place the order in the first place was I was a bit leery of doing an interac E transfer. I have zero history with this business. I didn't like some of the reviews I read about them either. Anyway, I acted in good faith, and placed an order for 20....2 ounce silver coins. I noticed that the purchase stated this was a "preorder." I assumed this meant that the coins might not be in stock. I checked my emails, and to my dismay, I noticed there were TWO orders generated. I have to be honest, I am a 75 year old male, with very limited computer skills, and I sometimes get a bit confused. I didn't realize I had generated TWO orders. I must have clicked on to "buy now" instead of "view cart" on the first attempt. It was an honest mistake. I take responsiblity for making a stupid error. I did send the Company an email telling them I had duplicated the order. I was worried about receiving my order on time. I placed the order on the 16 March 2025, knowing I would be out of the Country after the third week of April, and not returning until late July. Since the order was a "preorder" I decided to call the Company long distance on my land line, and explain my situation. They admitted the coins were not in stock, and couldn't tell me when the order would be available to ship. I explained my situation, and after some discussion, I agreed to accept a substitute product that they had in stock, and could ship out right away. We agreed to supplying the new coins at the same cost, including free shipping, although the new coins were actually $27 less. I was assured the coins would be shipped out the next day. This morning, I checked my emails, and I was shocked. I received a threatening email from their customer service team. They were reminding me that I still had an outstanding order that had not been paid for, and if I didn't pay them within 24 hours, they were going to place me in collection. This was the order that I had originally thought was only in my cart. I made a mistake. I duplicated the order by mistake. I was very upset, because I had already contacted them by email explaining this. This is my very first experience buying from this business...and I was utterly shocked and lost for words. This is how they treat their honest customers? I am not in good health. I am having surgery on the 20 March. I do not need any stress. They provided a phone number. I decided to phone them again long distance, rather then try to explain my situation by email I spoke to a person named "Jay." He was very understanding, and sympathetic. I explained I had made an honest mistake, and I wasn't trying to "scam" them. I expressed my feelings about getting a nasty email from Rachel...one of their customer service team members. She never even took the time to respond to my email that I had accidently duplicated my order. I just received a threatening email instead. I am now waiting for my order to be shipped. The order was changed. "Jay" called me this morning to advice me the original order had now been cancelled. He was very polite to me and I thank him for his follow up. In my opinion, he is a valued employee. Bullion Mart needs to improve their customer service and respond better to customer emails. This could all have been avoided if they had only realized I made an honest mistake. Hopefully, I will receive my order in the next few days. I am not sure I would buy from them again. I am very disappointed as this was my first experience with this business. Update: My order was received on the 25 March at my local post office. Coins were well packaged. I will change my review to 3 stars. I would have given them 4 stars if they had communicated with me about my error instead of threatening to place me in collection.
