First, Carbon Health decided to cancel my ability to see a doctor because they were no longer working with the Physicians Group of San Jose. Rude awakening, I was with a Medicare Plan but they said it was through the PGSJ and I would have to find another clinic.
Second, before I found out I was no longer entitled to be treated there, I had been seen by a PA there and it was a visit that should have been covered, regular office visit, by my Medicare Plan. Two years later, I received a bill for $215, they finally got around to telling me that the insurance declined the bill. I called the insurance company from then and they told me it was declined because they never got the proper information from Carbon Health. Meanwhile, I was getting nasty letters about sending my bill to collections and hurting my credit standing from Carbon. Through many phone calls and emails, I finally got Carbon to provide the proper documents to the insurance. To make matters worse, my case was sent by insurance for reprocessing. I had to wait for 45 days while they went over the case. I had to call Carbon a number of times, got hung up on, treated rudely and disrespected by agents who did not speak American English. The insurance company finally paid the outstanding bill, and it was all because CARBON DID NOT PROPERLY FILL THE BILLING. It was hours of being on hold, being rudely treated, and trying to get in touch with Carbon agents, ALL WASTED BECAUSE OF THEIR INCOMPETENCE!!!
As for Carbon in general. I had to have a meeting with the doctor I chose, then they billed my insurance for a visit where she talked to me for 5 minutes, but did nothing medical, just a "hello, nice to meet you." I never saw that doctor again! When I went in it was always a PA or a nurse, but not my doctor. It was difficult to get an appointment with Carbon and they messed up a number of times with my appointments. I was trapped because it was difficult to find a doctor who accepted my Medicare plan in the area where I was living. As it turned out, I could not usually go to the Carbon office near my house, and the only appts. I could book with them were fifteen to 30 miles from my home. I WILL NEVER GIVE CARBON A GOOD STAR RATING! THEY ARE THE WORST, MOST INCONSIDERATE EXCUSE FOR A MEDICAL PRACTICE.

Carbon Health at Westbank Market in Austin Texas is outstanding. The team of experienced, efficient, and pleasant medical professionals are second to none. I'm particularly grateful to Julia Fetters, Emily Kriegh, Lauren (Ren) Paoli, and Hisham Sahli for providing swift and effective attention at an attractive price. It's without hesitation that I recommend this wonderful company to anyone in need of medical assistance.
The entire experience with Carbon was a disaster. The PA who "saw" me only asked if I wanted antibiotics. I said I'd like to find out why I was ill first. She wouldn't do any tests because she said my insurance wouldn't pay for it. Really? As if that wasn't bad enough, OVER ONE YEAR later, Carbon charged my credit card. No warning, despite the No Surprises Act in CA. My health insurance said they never received a claim. Carbon had billed the wrong insurance, and had received a denial a year ago but never informed me. Despite its error, it still refused to bill my actual insurance plan. This is an inept and highly unprofessional organization. Stay away.
I've had a lot of bad experiences at urgent care centers, but have finally found a good one! I have been to Carbon Health twice this year and both experiences were good. The wait was reasonable, the space was clean, the employees were friendly and caring, and I got the treatment I needed. The one complaint I have is that they close for an hour for lunch. Last time I arrived during their lunch and had to wait a while for them to reopen. It would be better to stagger staff lunches so that people could still be seen. Most people coming to urgent care need treatment quickly, because there is some level of urgency. But other than that, I had a great experience both times.
From COVID vaccination during the height of the pandemic (set up in a huge parking lot due to the urgency) to several visits to the local Urgent Care, for me and my sons,I have found Carbonhealth to be well run, well staffed and considerate. That's for private insurance coverage And for Medicaid. I would use them for Urgent Care again and have recommended the local facility to friends.
The doctor seemed new. They did not do a rapid strep test . They took cultures to send away. Told us we would have results in 3 days. 11 days later several calls, messages , rude staff experiences and we still have no answers. Or even proof cultures were actually done. 3 prescriptions were sent to the pharmacy one never made it so we went back to try to get that fixed the next day and we were told it was sent and a print out that was not a legal prescription was handed to us and told us that is all they could do. This place is awful. From treatment to customer service to billing.
