Review Time
Waiting times are not as advertised at all. I have had to chase numerous times throughout this process and I was referred in August last year after hearing about how good the wait times were. 3 months after diagnosis and still have not heard anything about titration and its really getting quite frustrating now. If I had the chance to choose provider again I would have never gone with CARE.
I, like many other people suffering with ADHD, chose Care ADHD as it was the ADHD provider advertising the lowest wait times. My GP told me they would send my referral on the 22nd of May 2025. I first received contact from Care ADHD on the 5th of July, 6 weeks later. I finished filling out all the forms by the end of the week and waited a further 7 weeks for a call from the assesment booking team, on the 31st of August, for an assessment on the 13th of October, 6 weeks later. I received my outcome letter on the 16th and immediately submitted my titration request, and didn't hear anything until the 25th of November, 5 weeks later, and that only being further health questions that I had already answered in my initial titration request. I then, like many others who were referred and assessed in a similar time frame to me, was contacted with initial forms for titration on the 17th of December. It's been 9 weeks since then, and I haven't heard a thing.
If we've been counting, my referral to my diagnosis was TWENTY ONE WEEKS (far exceeding the wait time that made me sign up to Care ADHD in the first place) and from my titration request being submitted to now has been EIGHTEEN WEEKS. I have constantly been looking to the website's 'waiting times' page for guidance and been completely understanding with wait times for titration fluctuating (mostly increasing, though). What I'm not understanding about is 1. complete lack of transparency over where patients are in the queue, and 2. what appears to be patients being seen outside of the order they were referred, contrary to what we're told by the care provider.
1. Many patients are attempting to get in contact with Care ADHD for updates on their titration process, with many not receiving responses, many receiving the same generic response that doesn't provide any further clarity, and only some receiving actual updates to their person position in the queue for titration. I find this unacceptable. Leaving people, especially with our medical condition, in limbo for weeks and months on end is honestly cruel. If we're being sent an update email, it shouldn't be a generic 'we're sorry for the wait'. All guidelines for the titration pipeline specifically have been removed from Care ADHD's waiting times page, which only further adds to the uncertainty many of us are feeling.
2. There have been several cases of patients who have been referred in the last few months already having their first titration appointment. Once case I saw was of a patient who had been referred for an assessment on the 20th of November and had their first titration appointment on the 12th of January. From referral to titration within less than 2 calendar months, what has taken Care ADHD 9 months and counting for me, and many patients even longer. For a care provider that claims that all patients are processed in the order they were referred, this simply doesn't make sense.
If I'd have known that Care ADHD's waiting times would be grossly inflated in reality, I would have chosen an alternate provider. It also doesn't bode well for how we may be treated if and when we are finally titrated. There has been discussion of complaining to the CQC and I may have to do the same. It simply isn't fair to treat ADHD sufferers like this.
Don’t believe the waiting times. Absolute scandal. Every time you get to what should be the end of your wait time for titration they add on more weeks, double your wait time or simply just say we haven’t forgotten you! Referred in beginning of July should’ve been 8 weeks to assessment, nope 19 weeks, then titration was advertised as 4 weeks, nope 12 weeks and counting and now they’re saying it’s 12-16 weeks from a date WE decide and not when you were assessed! So basically any time we choose.
The assessment part was good. Can’t fault the assessor. But depending on your situation it can be extremely hard. I’m late diagnosed and have carried this around for years isolating myself from friends etc so opening up was emotional. Then told titration 4 weeks. I feel so on edge waiting to start titration. CareADHD diagnose you then cruelly leave you to it. My mh is worse now than before as I can’t hide it anymore.
I was originally referred to a different provider, whom my daughter had used, had I gone with them I’d be 3 months on meds by now. I can’t recommend CareADHD unless adhd doesn’t affect your mh - I’ve rung them 4 times and sent emails but no reply.
I'm waiting to start the titration pathway after being diagnosed in November 25. I appreciate these services are in high demand however, after several emails to the company asking for a rough estimate on how long I will have to wait, I'm still no further with any answer. I'm struggling at work and need to see some light at the end of a tunnel. It is causing low mood, anxiety and constant checking of my phone in case I've missed a call. Even if the wait is months rather than weeks it would help me greatly to have a rough idea instead of feeling in limbo.
The in-person assessment was simply the repetition of the super-long and repetitive forms that I had already filled out.
The examiner had a very non-fluent and unclear English, which made it very difficult for me to follow what she said, and she was merely reading from the text without conveying the connotations correctly. She also sounded inattentive to the fact that I have trouble understanding her and was responding with an irritated tone whenever I asked her to repeat.
As of January 28th, I will have been with this service for a full year. Ironically, their website states that the entire process should take no longer than 8-10 weeks. My referral was submitted in January 2025, and I received my assessment forms in April 2025. I returned them the same day, but I only received my diagnosis in August. I promptly sent back the titration forms I received, but have heard nothing since. After discussing the negative impact on my life with my mental health nurse, I received a generic email about excessive wait times due to 'exceptional' service usage. By the end of December, I received more pre-titration forms asking for the same information I had submitted three months earlier. As of today, January 24, 2026, I’m still waiting for a titration appointment. There has been no communication from the service despite my multiple calls and emails. I received the pre-titration forms back in December, stating that someone would reach out to arrange a titration appointment, but with no specified timeframe. What frustrates me most is seeing someone in a Facebook group I’m part of who paid for a private diagnosis. They were diagnosed in early December, triaged late December, and started medication this month. It honestly feels like private assessments are being prioritized. It's ironic to read their responses about individual assessments. My partner, who went to a different provider, was diagnosed and medicated the same day, while I have been waiting six months for my first appointment after diagnosis. Clearly, the business model they are using is not effective, especially when other providers are handling things more efficiently. Overall, the diagnosis process was relatively straightforward, but everything that followed has been highly unprofessional. I plan to call on Monday to see if I missed anything, though they should be the ones contacting me. If there are no updates on my medication, I will follow others' leads and report them to the regulatory body.
I couldn’t fault my experience with Care ADHD. Victoria made the whole process feel smooth and professional, and she really put me at ease, especially as I was quite nervous beforehand. Everything was explained clearly, and I felt supported throughout the assessment. I really appreciated her patience, guidance, and the way she made me feel comfortable sharing my experiences.
Thank you
The timeline from requesting a referral from my GP to receiving my assessment and diagnosis was just around six weeks. I was impressed by the speed and efficiency of the process. The assessment was conducted in a professional yet friendly manner, and it was a delight to converse with the representative. I wholeheartedly recommend this service—I've even shared my positive experience with friends who may also be exploring ADHD.
I was prompted to leave a review after my assessment, and I want to express how fantastic the representative was throughout the process. He was exceptionally kind and empathetic, and even when we exceeded the scheduled time, he maintained a positive demeanor, making what could have been a challenging discussion much easier. I truly felt fortunate to have him guide me through, and I want to highlight that he performed exceptionally well!
