Care Credit sends their bills out late. Then they charge you $30.00 for a late fee even when I called. We got the bill the day it was due. Nobody knows when you call. You also can't understand them. Nobody is a Native English speaker. Very frustrating. I am cancelling this service as soon as my bill is paid off. They don't care. I told them I would cancel. No response
Amount of $9,500 was deposited for a patient who disputed their purchase and Care Credit took $10,000 from my account when only $9,500 was deposited. I called Care Credit, spoke to the supervisor and she was extremely rude and helped with nothing. I was charged $500 for nothing. We are a providers office as well and know how it is when dealing with refunds and disputes, but this is the worst experience i've encountered and we are just not understanding of this situation. Care Credit had us fax paperwork back and forth, just so at the end of the day they could charge me an unnecessary amount of $500. I do not wish to use Care Credit ever again, and will not recommend to anyone.
I was literally sitting in the dentist chair, waiting to numb for a root canal. A worker came in and said I needed to pay before the procedure. I said I’d pay after, with my credit card. They charge 3% to get use a card. Said I could open this account, they’d fill everything out and I could pay CareCredit with my credit card. Wrong. It has to come from your checking. I received the bill and it was due 10 days after the procedure. I had 2 days to pay it off or incur an outrageous APR of almost 33%. Then I got an email that if I didn’t sign up for paperless billing, they will charge $1.99 a month to send one out. Run away!
**THEY R SCAMMING ME, WITHOUT EVER ALERTING ME, OR WARNING ME OF A HIGH INTEREST RATE, ON A FAKE DEADLINE! I AM NOW FIGHTING THEM 2 STOP, A VERY HIGH ADDED INTERST RATE, TAGGED ON! EVENTULLY, I WILL HAV 2 CUT OFF (CARECREDIT) PAYMENTS, AT MY BANK, 2 NOT PAY THE CROOKED HIGH INTERST RATE** P.S. IS TER A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, AGAINST THEM?
Finding their contact number is quite challenging. The wait times are lengthy, and when I finally spoke to someone, they were not very helpful. I paid off my credit card in October, but in January, I discovered interest charges of $8.06. When I called to pay these charges and close the card, they said they could process that but couldn't assure me there wouldn't be more interest charges, advising me to check my statement next month. I expressed my frustration at not being able to get a clear payoff amount. After being transferred to a 'supervisor', I received the same vague responses. They mentioned that interest accrues daily but couldn't provide a total amount to settle. I was offered to send a check for around $11.00, but I refused a credit. We argued about this, and I suggested setting up an auto-pay for the $8.06 and closing the account afterward. The response was that I had to call back to finalize the closure. After much back and forth, they finally agreed to process the $8.06, but only for a future date. It took several explanations before they understood my request. Overall, the customer service was poor, and it felt like they were more focused on extracting every cent rather than genuinely assisting me.
Caution when using this service! If you have promotional balances, your monthly payment will first go towards the lowest balances instead of those expiring soonest. For instance, if you have a $2000 promotional balance due in 6 months and a $600 balance due in 12 months, they will prioritize the smaller amount first. This approach is baffling! Why would anyone want to clear the longer-term balance first? Additionally, you can't modify this process; you must contact them every time you make a payment to specify how you want it applied. This is absurd! I plan to settle my balances and will not use this card again!
Exercise caution when using this service! If you have promotional balances, your monthly payment is applied to the lowest balances first, rather than the balances expiring soonest. For instance, if you have a $2000 promotional balance expiring in 6 months and a $600 balance expiring in 12 months, your payments will go towards the lower balance first. This policy is perplexing! Why would you want to pay off balances that are due later first? You can't alter this approach either! You must call them each time you make a payment and specify how you want the payment applied! This is absurd! I will be settling my balances and will not use this service again!
If I could, I'd rate it zero. This has been the worst experience. I applied online and was approved. However, when I visited my healthcare provider, neither of us could access the supposed virtual card to retrieve the full number. I called customer support, which was another disappointing experience. They informed me that due to a system update, I now need the full card number and that I must wait 7 to 10 business days for my physical card to arrive. This was not helpful as I needed to make a payment immediately. I requested to cancel my application and remove the inquiry from my credit report, but the support agent was unsure if that was possible and had to consult another representative. I also reached out to consumer protection, as their advertising claims instant approval for immediate use, which turned out to be false. They need to update their website.
To summarize, they claimed I made a late payment by two days in 2023 while I was hospitalized for over a year with a severe condition. Since then, they have been charging me interest fees. I explained my situation, but this is the only service that does not offer a grace period. Other companies, including my mortgage and utility providers, allow for a grace period. As a disabled veteran on a fixed income, my dental bill escalated from $2000 in 2023 to over $5411 now. They even blocked my online access, forcing me to call to make payments. Recently, I was on hold for over two hours with multiple representatives. The customer service is lacking, with agents being unhelpful and rude. They refused to assist me in resolving the issue regarding my late payment. Please avoid this service! It seems to be a scam. I cannot comprehend why they are still in business despite numerous complaints.
This service is inconsistent, disorganized, and feels like a scam! I pay my bills early and call to confirm everything is on track, only to find unexpected charges on my account weeks later. When I contacted them, a so-called manager informed me that I was charged for insufficient funds, which makes no sense! It's disheartening how companies like this exploit their customers. Steer clear of this service!
