I’ve paid and submitted my album almost 30 days ago and it’s still in a inspection queue and I can’t get any information about it, no support from anyone, unbelievable poor customer service.
In the past I have loved CD Baby. I love the UI, how easy it is to set up and release music, and I love their mission of non-subscription based releases. That being said, if you need to contact support for whatever reason, you might as well use a different distributer. Their support is pretty much non-existent. If you look up people's experiences with their support you'll find countless stories of people not being helped for weeks or months, then having their tickets closed without a solution.
At the moment, I cannot use the service because I'm locked out. For some reason, CD Baby only uses phone number based verification when logging in. So if you're in my position where you've changed you're phone number, there is no way to get into your account without opening a ticket with support. As previously stated, by myself and many other users, support is practically non-existent, so good luck if you plan on changing numbers.
I think this is an absolutely ridiculous system. There isn't even the option for email verification, let alone some sort of personalized question. It genuinely baffles me that they wouldn't consider the possibility of people changing their phone numbers. When trying to see other options for verification, there isn't even an option to indicate you've changed numbers. There is only one other option, which is to receive voice call instead of text verification. Please improve this!!
Absolutely terrible customer service, simply because there is none!
I’ve been trying to fix an (urgent) issue that’s caused by CD BABY’s own metadata submission for the past two weeks, but in vain. Despite the many (many) attempts to reach any of their customer service agents (if they actually exist?!) the only thing i keep on getting is a bot automated response which is completely Shelly and unhelpful. Honestly I’m shocked by such terrible customer service. No response at all, neither via email nor Instagram or any other social media channel. They’re basically IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH. Therefore, expect 0 customer service help/support from this platform. So disappointed and extremely frustrating.
CD Baby has been an incredibly reliable and artist-friendly platform. From music distribution to publishing administration, everything is clear, transparent, and easy to manage—even for independent musicians working without a big team. Their dashboard is intuitive, royalty reports are detailed, and payments are always on time.
What really stands out is CD Baby’s commitment to artists’ ownership and long-term support. They don’t just distribute music—they help artists build sustainable careers. Customer support is responsive, and the educational resources are genuinely helpful.
Highly recommended for independent artists who want global reach, professional tools, and peace of mind. CD Baby truly understands musicians.
I've been releasing music with CDBaby since 2018. Last one was summer of 2022. The new album that launched this year 1/23 had an Apple Music delivery failure, which I caught nearly 10 days before the release. No response from CDBaby support. After the release, we've sent 5 support tickets and dozens of follow-ups. I checked with Apple Music Artist support, and despite having an "Artist ID", they don't even have it in their catalog. When artists rely on services like this, and it fails on Album Release Day....how embarrassing. Any marketing dollars thrown at Apple Music was absolutely wasted... Great company, fallen.
This service is utterly untrustworthy; do not rely on them. They lure individuals in with the appeal of "becoming an independent artist." Once payment is made, they shut down your account with flimsy excuses, leaving you without your money. I created two albums there starting January 4th (all my original music using AI technology, and I hold the commercial rights). I even purchased additional promotional services. Then, on January 13th, I received an email stating that my account was closed due to alleged copyright issues.
Outstanding — Clear, Concise, and Comprehensive A sincere apology. The writer is simply a poet—using metaphor, not presenting authority. There is no antichrist in our society. After two months of my tracks being linked to another artist's account on a music platform, I decided to remove them myself as my complaints to the support team were completely ignored. It's been two months, and I haven't received any response to my email regarding this issue.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the service for their years of unwavering support and professionalism. Their dependability, reasonable pricing, and dedication to quality have established them as a reliable partner throughout our journey. The team's seriousness, transparency, and long-term commitment have been crucial in enabling our music to connect with audiences globally with confidence and respect.
