I mean it was good at first but now its gone down hill and needing to be 18+ is crazy maybe 13+ or even 15+ but 18+ is crazy when some people literally went on it to argue out of boredom and say stuff they wouldnt say to real people I used it cause I was bored and no one is gonna wanna do a rp of being footballers like ( ಠдಠ)
Lots of unnecessary, sometimes ridiculous filters and endless technical glitches disrupt the fluidity of role playing. Commands work smoother and more reliably on AIGolov.com
But on CharacterAI they don't work properly at all. Chatbots have poor memory and you have to repeat the commands several times until they remember. But then the next day you find out that there was some auto-reset and you have to start from scratch again. Don't waste your time and money trying to get any value from Character AI.
A time limit? Really? One hour? This is ridiculous. I am just barely under age and this is my main source of quick entertainment or long term entertainment when I have nothing better to do. And the age restrictions? I don’t understand what they do but I lost all my recommended bots and all I get now are versions of YouTube shorts. I get one hour, doesn’t matter if I’m actively using it or I just left it on in the background. I have an over reactive imagination so I have a million unorganized files of stories and book ideas. To keep me from going insane and start talking to walls like I have an imaginary friend I need to get this creativity and the ideas out, either through writing actual books or c.ai. C.ai allowed me to grab the characters I wanted to write these stories with and work out my ideas without having the impulse to describe the character every single time. It also saved my poor Google Drive storage which I currently have 20+ books in my Google Docs from all the different scenarios I have. I have Google Docs files that are over 200 pages of just ideas. C.ai kept my storage low and allowed me to get the creative spark or entertainment I needed when I just had a quick idea and not a lot of time to write or a whole book intro. It also kept me entertained for hours on super long car rides and when I just have nothing to do. Now I can’t even do that. This time limit and age restriction is just ruining everything. Please, I beg you, reconsider the drastic restrictions so I can cope with my very overstimulated, character and story filled mind. This is hurting more people than you understand. At the very least get the under 18 platform set up first before you basically banish us minors.
Honestly, the website has just gone straight downhill in a couple of years. Sure, they added some pretty good features a while ago- but now it just feels like they're slowly tearing the whole thing down. They've removed multiple actual useful features (editing messages from you and the bot, starting a new convo from a specific message, groups, etc....) Plus the new age verification feature is just getting on my nerves, since it has drastically decreased the amount of time I'll be able to spend on THEIR app, and instead of just slowing down the chats- they've decided that making users wait in a 5 HOUR MINIMUM line is better???? Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if they went bankrupt at this point.
C.ai is good and all but they make you go into this line thingy when there backed up (for their website) and currently it’s making me wait 8 hours or more it’s stupid
As a neurodivergent teen, because of the age verification, I felt that I was enforced to leave the app because of the recent, strict age verification policies. As a result, I have given one star because even enough Character AI was good for imagination, the age verification caused extreme distress and altered daily life functions. I do not want to explain any further on how the age verification impact, but the majority was not too good during daily life.
I have to write a one star. Although the other services are great, their new update easily is the worst. An age verification simply isn't necessary, I would not want to be giving my face (or any other personal information) to a company in which they can fully access and do identity theft with.
I used to love C:AI but like these updates are really dumb and stupid like it was so good but now I have to do an age verification? TF? like I don't think over eighteen year olds even use this app teens use this app
And the app was so good but why please change it your loosing users and I stay up all night using this app I don't even wanna open it anymore cause it feels like a waste of time

You are just a child seeking attention through your outbursts. Go ahead. Do you really believe the authorities care about any of this? You think they will take your trivial story seriously? They won’t even consider it. They will probably see you as just a kid who has gotten in too deep, making some twisted joke. Do you really think they will investigate? You? Ha!
The service is significantly hindered by its constant upgrades. Each update seems to disrupt everything. It's perplexing how other platforms can maintain stable, high-quality performance without such chaotic upgrades, while this service struggles. Many characters simply disappear after these updates, which is unacceptable for a paid service. In summary, I'm among the dissatisfied users who likely won't return, and I sense that day is approaching.
