If this were a business, it would be out of business. I needed to renew my membership, but the online chat took 30 minutes and ended up providing a wrong link. A phone call to the department turned out to be unhelpful as they don't take incoming calls, and their email responses say they take 5 days to reply. Earlier in the year, I was asked to pay my fee along with my membership fee, which resulted in the website not allowing me to complete the renewal steps. I was then told that since I paid, I didn't need to complete the renewal process, leaving me vulnerable to disciplinary action for not completing necessary procedures. The website is illogical and makes it hard to find the right links. If I were to train again, I would choose a different organization. If you're considering becoming an accountant, I recommend looking into other options.

My biggest regret was registering with this organization

My biggest regret was signing up with this organization. Honestly, it feels like a total scam. Their exemption calculator indicated I was eligible for exemptions, so I paid the fee based on that. However, after payment, I found out none of those exemptions applied to me. Despite multiple emails, I only received template responses. When I requested a cancellation and refund, they didn't even review my case and outright refused to return my money. If this isn't a scam, what is?

An institution that fails to uphold its own ethics

I have had a terrible experience with them since the recent migration that caused me to miss an important sitting, leaving me with only one opportunity for a course my employers paid for. Of course, I failed that by one mark! It was entirely their fault that I had only one shot when I was counting on two. I managed to get my PER approved, but missed out by just one mark on a case study after months of stress. I couldn't access my account for months and had to create a new one just before the exam entry deadline. This new account doesn't show my history, and updating my approved PER status required multiple emails. They refused any responsibility or compensation for my unique situation caused by their incompetence. They've shown they don't care about their students, and there’s no complaints process to support us. It's just about collecting money without delivering. I've chosen to sever ties with them completely, and the resignation process was a hassle. Even now, my account hasn’t been updated. It’s ridiculous that after all the money I've spent, I can't even see my exam history.

An incredibly poorly designed website

This is one of the worst websites in modern history. It’s not user-friendly, many courses are nonexistent, and existing members can't renew. The program is inaccessible. It’s a complete mess! They must be losing money rapidly. Communication is impossible in the UK, and the call handlers are overseas. I can't believe how far this organization has fallen. Clearly, not much was invested in this website. Merging with the overseas partner was a huge mistake!

A disappointing organization focused on profit

Their special considerations unit is extremely slow to respond and shows no empathy for students, even when presented with evidence. It’s a disappointing company that seems solely focused on maximizing fees at the expense of the student experience.

Longtime member disappointed by declining quality

I agree with many of the recent reviews. As a member for over 15 years, I’ve noticed a decline in quality. They charge a higher subscription than other organizations, yet the quality of the qualification is far inferior. The website is glitchy and outdated. I requested my exam transcripts multiple times but received no response. When I called, the operator was unhelpful and said it takes 5 working days to send a digital transcript. This organization claims to prioritize efficiency but seems to be embezzling money from its members. I suggest avoiding this path and pursuing a bachelor's degree or other reputable qualifications.

A poor representation of a professional body

After years of hard work, I feel regret instead of joy upon achieving my qualification. The introduction of new programs is devaluing the qualification, making it easier for those who struggle to pass exams. Additionally, technical failures on the website are causing numerous issues for members, including my inability to renew membership. I’m stuck in limbo, repeatedly contacting support with no resolution. There has been no acknowledgment of the issues from the organization, and despite completing everything needed for full membership, I can't submit my application due to their failures. I’m left wondering if I will ever receive my certificate.

This organization has lost its direction

Having qualified decades ago and received fellowship, I was granted fee remission upon retirement. For years, I was not asked for fees, but recently received a request. When I queried this, my concerns were ignored, and my membership was resigned without discussion. It seems this organization has lost its way in dealing with long-term members who have contributed for many years. I no longer recognize what they stand for.
