19 years ago (and for a decade before - when I was a very busy actor; as distinct from what few jobs I get today - I paid several visits to The Clementine Churchill Hospital, as a Private Patient, funded by insurance Even so, it goes without saying that the NHS funded service I received last Friday, 20 Feb 26, far surpassed all that I had received before ! The consultant was exemplary; in that his frank reassurance - from a diagnostic point of view - was bang-on-the-button; as was his solicitous manner throughout ! Indeed - in all my nearly 87 years I have never experienced such dedicated caring and thorough-going attention. Added to this, the staff - from his caring, polite and helpful receptionist; to the kindly restaurant team - both proved to be *the icing on the cake*. Realising what the fee would have been - had I been obliged to fund this visit myself - I made my way home, feeling eternally grateful !
Didn't have to wait about to see some one at appointment.
My GP sent me there as ordinary NHS waiting list was far to long and I was in incredible pain and could barley walk.
Hospital was only a short walk from train station and bus stops.
The staff were excellent during my visit, but I was left disappointed afterward due to the absence of results. When I followed up, the responses were curt, claiming I wasn't entitled to the MRI despite having physical proof of authorization and the procedure being done that night. They simply haven't sent the results. An investigation is underway, and despite my emails, I haven't received any replies. I'm still in pain after waiting over three weeks for the scan.
After a three-month wait to see a specialist, I was referred for an MRI, which I had done a few days later. However, it would take another three months for the specialist to review my MRI. I've decided to take my MRI to another clinic. Very disappointing.
While the surgeons and doctors have been impressive, and I’ve had mostly positive experiences during my surgeries and appointments, the aftercare process has been confusing. I left without seeing a physiotherapist, unaware it was part of my care; they contacted me while I was heading home. Additionally, the organization of follow-up appointments needs improvement, as I received notice of a scheduled call that actually happened a week earlier than expected, leaving me frustrated.
I reached out to discuss specific allergy tests available, and I was fortunate to connect with a staff member who was incredibly helpful from the start. She ensured she understood my needs and went above and beyond to explore all options available to me, while also being mindful of my budget. We spent a considerable amount of time on the phone, during which all my questions were answered, relevant specialists were found, and clear pricing was provided. This entire process was made as simple and enjoyable as possible, leaving me feeling well-informed and confident about my next steps.
Scheduling an appointment with the consultant neurologist after getting a referral from my doctor was simple. They responded promptly to the referral letter, and I had an appointment set up within two weeks. The staff were professional, and the environment was pleasant. The examination was thorough, and the attention to detail regarding my health was commendable.
I truly appreciated the exceptional care and attention provided by all staff members. As someone who struggles with English, I found it challenging to understand certain aspects; however, the staff were patient and understanding throughout. Overall, it was a delightful experience.
