Terrible customer service. My daughter signed a contract in her first year of university to move in second year. Unfortunately she had to withdraw from uni and was told she had to find a replacement or pay for a whole year accomodation. After finding a replacement she managed to get out of her contract, however after emailing and phoneing the estate agent multiple times they make different excuses to not return the deposit paid, when she never moved in to the property and her replacement has also paid for a second deposit. Absolutely disgraceful!
Good points: I went in with my daughter to follow up a maintenance request that she had made that hadn't been addressed, the staff were pleasant. Bad points: very slow to respond to maintenance needs, or didn't respond at all. Took money off the deposits for an excessive number of cleaning hours for such a small place, when 4 people had spent a day cleaning right through. I saw how they were keeping the place, all mature students and not dirty even before they did that. I suspect the agency always charge for cleaning and maybe don't even look at the flat. Poor communication and not "on the ball"; Coapt were contacting the residents after they'd already moved out, to tell them if prospective viewings.
Coapt too care of the rentals for my flat and that of my partner. They did a great job finding tenants and checking them in and out,They also then managed to sell my flat when that time came, overall a great experience and special thanks to Toby.
They are exploiting university students. By renting sub standard end property to students. At over priced payments on property’s that haven’t been touched since the 1960s. Yet charging 2025 prices for them. No double glazing. Rotten wood frames. Poor security. Dirty.
Arranged a viewing with Tommy for a property, arrived at the viewing and after 15 minutes of waiting for him to show up past the scheduled time he didn’t show up, so had to phone the company. Company said the viewing wasn’t logged in the system and rearranged another viewing for us a week later at the same time. On the day of the second scheduled viewing I had a call from Tommy in the morning before the viewing confirming I was still coming, and after waiting around again outside the property for him to show up, there was no sign from him. Received a call from him saying “there was an issue with the viewing” so it had to be rearranged again. Wasting our time and money two Saturdays in a row as we had to travel to these viewings. Little to no remorse. So unprofessional!
Shocking management. Failed to mention that the property we were going to view had been sold, until we called them 20 minutes after our viewing was meant to begin. This happened again, rearranged a viewing for 3 properties we had no interest in and failed to mention the start time for the viewings so we missed the only property we had some sort of remote interest in, and further gave us the wrong address for the other 2. The whole point of this company is to let properties and they somehow fail at the first hurdle.
They clearly only care about their profit, renting out low standard accommodation with mould, insufficient heating and old appliances, and then show a complete lack of care or customer service with any complaints, and then for the complete icing on the cake they rip you off by taking away as much of your deposit as they can possibly get away with for nominal charges. Don't use them. Find another letting agency.
AVOID AVOID AVOID!We constantly had contractors walking in to our house without knocking or letting us know. After reading other review I know multiple other people have had this. We filled out a maintenance form when we first moved in, the issues were not fixed by the time we moved out, despite contact chasing and assurance it would be sorted out. Deposits took almost 3 months to get back, even though it is a legal requirement to have it back in 10 days, they tried to charge us for things that were already damaged. I would avoid them at all costs even if it means paying a little more to go with another estate agents. Also during your viewing they straight up lie to you and say other people are super interested in the property but they haven’t paid the deposit yet (when your probably the first people to view the house) so that you have to make a rushed decision. I also heard they had to change their name as they previously had so many bad reviews.
Terrible estate agent, I would avoid them. Myself and my housemates used them in 2nd year and we had so many problems with our house, coapt would always take a long time to get back to us and would be reluctant to fix anything.We only had 1 toilet which flooded on the weekend and we called and called them, emailed them. No response, no emergency number, didn’t give us the landlords number.And took 2 months to get our deposit back after moving out as they were so slow with the processes.
