Dr. Mary was exceptional. She was so caring and compassionate caring for our nearly 18 year old cat Oreo Cookie. Her gentleness and kindness made our family feel more at ease. I know that I made the right decision for Cookie to have her end of life care in her loving home. Thank you Codapet and Dr. Mary.
I arranged an in-home euthanasia appointment with the service a week in advance, carefully selecting a time that fit the veterinarian’s limited availability. Just two days prior to the appointment, I received a message to reschedule due to an “upcoming emergency” conflicting with my dog’s euthanasia. I later discovered this was not an emergency, but rather a personal obligation the veterinarian chose to prioritize over my appointment. She then attempted to move me to a day that had been unavailable when I originally booked, which left me puzzled as to how that day suddenly became “open.” It seems that convenience was favored over compassion, which is entirely unacceptable given the sensitive nature of this service. I chose not to reschedule and am now left searching for another way for my dog to pass peacefully at home. This experience has been incredibly distressing and reflects behavior that should never happen in end-of-life care. I genuinely hope the service takes this feedback seriously and considers the importance of reliability, clear communication, and compassion when families entrust you with one of the most challenging moments of their lives.
Dr. Gersten is amazing. We were dreading saying goodbye to our Sasha. What a tremendous relief having Dr. Gersten as the provider of this emotionally challenging process, made me think I would want to go exactly like our Sasha did, seriously. She’s companionate, honest, patient and understanding. Thank you.
Codapet.com comes up as the first option when internet searching for in-home pet euthanasia in my area (Duluth, MN). When attempting to schedule through the website, there are zero available appointments. What is the point of this if it isn't actually available when it is desperately needed? Codapet.com completely failed at the one thing it's supposed to do. We had to take our beloved cat to the veterinarian instead which scared him a lot. We did not want our cat to go through this process with any fear or stress and decided long before to have it done at home. Unfortunately, planning was not enough for our cat to pass peacefully. I am completely devastated from the loss which is worsened by the frightening, clinical way we had to say goodbye. My recommendation - don't rely on these at-home services and prepare for something less than ideal.
We were very impressed with CodaPet and the way Dr. Claire Gibson made every accommodation to make the family comfortable at such a difficult time. We were even more impressed with the gentle way you treated our sweet Bailey Girl with her transition. You certainly were an angel of compassion at a time when a physically and mentally exhausted family was in need of a helping hand. You are definitely a credit to your profession and I highly recommend your organization to anyone who should have a need for your services. More importantly, I believe that you are a genuinely good and caring person and I am glad that you were a part of this time in our lives. Thank you for all of your help!
We are in Duluth Mn. N had Dr Anna Peterson...I want to say that she is a true angel when it comes to such a emotional time. She was so very gentle with our angel Ghost as ghost is a scary lil cat..Anna was so patient n loving. Dr. Anna from CodaPet did an excellent job of giving us space to grieve during the process of sending our fury family member on to their next stage. I fully recommend her and their services. It is a little more costly, but appreciate her being available to provide this service at our home.
