This company has been disappointing, especially when it comes to handling claims. Despite being a customer for 35 years, my recent experience with a water damage claim has been frustrating. I’m left to cover all exterior costs due to high winds, making the insurance feel overly expensive and the service inadequate.
We requested a basic homeowners email quote on 10/31/25. As we neared the end of escrow, I called on 12/4/25, but they couldn't locate the quote. I was transferred to an agent in Southern Oregon and spent 30 minutes on the phone restarting the quote process. While she was quite talkative, she promised to email me the quote for our lender, but I never received it! I'm finished dealing with this service!
We requested and received a basic homeowners email quote on 10/31/25.We are just about through with escrow. I called on 12/4/25 and they couldn’t find the quote. They transferred me to an agent who handles southerlin, Oregon. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with her, starting the quote from the beginning again. She was certainly talkative! She said she would email me the quote so I would have it for our lender. I never received it! I am done dealing with Country Financial!
Had an issue with negligence from a windshield claim and was given a subrogation suggestion from the windshield claims agent. Instead of the company working with me on repairs they want to total out my car in this economy and it drives absolutely FINE with just undercarriage damages. The agent Jessica was smug and rude and over talked me several times. Yes I’m shopping screw these people!
We have had country financial insurance for over 18 years. Something has changed this year. We have had nothing but problems with them. We have auto pay so they can directly take our payment out of our account each month. They have failed to withdraw the payment twice. Nothing has changed with our bank account in over 20 years. We make all of our payments on time and have exceptional credit scores. They have blamed us and have increased our rates. I no longer trust them and we will be looking for different insurance.
I closed on a new house on July 9, 2025, and was recommended to use Country Financial for our homeowners' insurance. We had a representative from their local agency (Buddy Johnson) come to the home to take pictures to submit for the policy. At that time, we were told our wood-burning stove did not meet their safety standards and were given sixty days to have the stove removed. This was reasonable, and we agreed we would have the stove removed. Two weeks later, we received a letter from Country Financial stating they were canceling our policy due to the non-removal of the stove. So, before they could leave us without coverage, I obtained new insurance and canceled our policy with Country. The last week of August, Country Financial sent us a check refunding our escrow for the policy. After numerous calls to our mortgage company, our Country Financial agent, and Country Financial itself, we were told to directly deposit the check into our personal bank account and then contact our mortgage company to pay back our escrow, which is exactly what we did. On September 8th, I received a call from our bank stating that Country Financial had put a stop payment on our refund check. They did this without warning, without any written or verbal communication, or any contact whatsoever. This has caused us to bounce checks, accrue bank fees, and put our relationship with creditors in poor standing. When we contacted Country Financial, we were told that they "made a mistake and issued our refund in the incorrect amount." We were also assured that a replacement check had been issued on September 4th for the corrected amount. As of the writing of this review (September 12th), we still have not received our money and are carrying a negative balance with our bank. Country Financial stated that they could put a stop payment on the refund that they supposedly issued on the 4th, but that it "could take one to two full business days to ensure the stop payment is in place" before issuing an ACH transfer, which could then take another three to four business days to hit our account. Bottom line, Country Financial will do whatever it takes to protect THEIR interest while screwing you over without a care. Do yourself a favor...RUN don't walk from this den of thieves!
I’m livid with this company. I moved into my home 3 weeks ago, and we had 8 inches of rain last night. My home flooded, and there were some pretty significant damages. We filed a claim, had someone come out, and before even looking at everything he told us within 3 minutes the claim was going to be rejected because of “ground water” not being covered under any policy. Then he proceeded to walk around my house and take pictures just to continue building a case as to deny the claim. Who cares about my ruined basement as long as their profits are up?!? What the hell am I paying for!
