Doesn’t want criticism. On the coach you are given a very short survey but jokingly they say over the tannoy that any negative ones will be destroyed. I well believe that. I emailed the company with genuine points about my trip and they didn’t respond.
Booked a table for 2.15pm, by 3.30pm we had only had a round of drinks and our starters, after another 10 minute with finally got out main meal.Beef dinner ... beef was advertised as served pink, best I can say it was at least tender.Roast potatoes were stale and cold also overwhelming in garlic. Rest of the veg was also cold and past its eat by date.Yorkshire puddings were tough, stale and inedible.Service was very slow and not attentive at all .AVOID
Perhaps there were not enough staff, but on arrival we found tables that had glasses on and in need of a wipe down. We cleared the table ourselves and asked a member of staff to clean the table. My pizza had a very thin layer of tomato and cheese. I ordered a side dish of mediteranean salad and recieved a bowl of floppy leaves and some mixed grains. When I asked the lady serving about it she said the tomato, pepper and butternut squash was in there but cut small. I didn't agree. She said it was how it had been sent to them.I would not recommend this branch of Weatherspoons.
Having visited here for lunch a couple of months previous (which was fantastic) I booked a table of 6 for Sunday lunch with friends we hadn’t seen for several years. Really friendly greeting, and shown our table, and told a server would be over in a few minutes to take our drinks order, after 15 minutes I had to go to the bar to ask for service. The young lady was very pleasant and apologetic for not getting our order. Drinks arrived fairly promptly along with the Sunday food menu. We asked the young lady if the music could be turned down a bit as was finding difficult to hear conversation at our table. Surely, the music should be just background, not at a level which drowns out conversation at your table. In fairness this was turned down after 3/4 minutes which was great. We gave our order and food arrived about 10 minutes later. Sadly, all a bit…meh!! and the gammon on the mixed roast was nothing more than a rasher of back bacon. Annoyingly for a couple of our party there was no lamb roast on the menu?? Puzzling or what??. Also, be aware, you only get a small jug of gravy with your meal, which really isn’t sufficient to cover your roast, and extra jugs are £1.95 each. Again, about 15/20 minutes after finishing our meals we had to look for a server to clear our table, and ask for the dessert menu. These arrived and were at best okay. Sadly, for the third time we had to find a server to get our bill, which when it came quite promptly found they add 10% service charge for tables of 6 or more, which would be fine if we’d had good service. A table next to us had 4 people and they were attended far better than us (restaurant wasn’t even busy!!) so feel this was a bit cheeky. I believe 3 stars is about as much as I can give, and deserved.
My wife picked up fish, chips and musshy peas. The batter on the fish was almost black and the fish inside was dry and over cooked. The chips were pale dry and flavourless.Possibly the worse meal I've had.I gave one star because that was the minimum I could select.
