Wonderful food in a relaxed, family feel environment. Service was a perfect balance of helpful warm and friendly, where nothing was too much trouble.Thank you for making my Birthday special without even realising it xPs best espresso martini I’ve had in a very long time.
We booked in last night for pre theatre menu for 7 Starters arrived 1.5 hours after we arrived I ordered the mixed seafood! Two calamari two whitebait one prawn and this comes with a £2 supplementWe asked a couple of times about our mains to which we were told they were coming. At two hours after we arrived still no mains course so we had to leave for the theatre unfed. We had paid £20 deposit each and this covered our drinks and starters- which quite frankly I don’t think we should have had to pay for. We didn’t even receive an apology or anything as a agesture for ruining our evening! It’s so disappointing when you look forward to meeting friends for dinner and a restaurant that been running this long can’t even cope with pre theatre menus despite pre booking! Needless to say we won’t be back!
Four of us had a table booked for an early evening dinner. We were seated promptly at 5.30pm.Our wet coats were not taken, and we kept them slung over the backs of our chairs, school canteen style.Although we waited a short while to be approached for our order, there were no alarm bells yet.But then the catalogue of dissatisfaction started. Our waiter literally ran from the table after taking 3 of four drinks orders, following a whisper in his ear from another member of staff. After 5 minutes, he returned and just asked for our drinks order once again, like nothing had happened.Another long wait, then he returned to say they were out of the ingredients for one of the cocktails, causing delay. My margarita arrived in a glass smothered with fine table salt, genuinely the worst margarita I'd ever had.The £15 cocktail we had to cancel and replace with another choice found its way onto the bill at the end!One of our two starters was fair (meatballs). The other (aranchini) was disappointing. Then we waited an hour and a half for our 4 main courses! We only received them after reminding a passing manager we were all waiting. The small lasagne looked like a ready meal, but my friend said it tasted OK (but M&S ready meal lasagne is better). The mushroom risotto was completely bland and over cooked, the rice grains had all blown. This restaurant is in a great location. The decor and size/layout are nice. You walk in expecting great things. Then, you'll be hit by poor to average food and appaling service. The cost was expensive. We left, annoyed, disappointed, and hungry!
We had a hen night for 15 of us it was total nightmare they kept getting out drinks wrong bring over different drinks the food was horrendous we complained to the manager he eventually gave us a discount next day two of us had food poisoning he lost 15 diners in one night
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US (OR NOT)My oldest sister who eats at Don Giovanni on a regular basis thought it would be nice for me and my other sister's Birthday presents to treat us for a meal in Don Giovanni in Manchester and a night at the theatre. She booked us a table for 17.00pm so we would have enough time to have a relaxing meal and go and watch Bed knobs & Broomsticks. My Sister got there early about 16.20pm and had a few drinks whilst she was waiting for me. In total their was 6 of us.They advised us that our table wasn't ready, so we waited at the bar, time past and we asked again and we were told 10 minutes. It was a long 10 minutes, we got sat down at the table at 17:50pm, We sat and we waited, and waited, no one came to take our order, by this time is was 18.05pm.someone finally came to take our order, then we waited and waited for our food, now it was 18.40pm, we asked a manager who said our food was coming, finally it came, I had order Sea Bass filleted and that's what I got just that no veg nothing. Three of my family ordered risotto and the portion size was a joke, I kid you not, you get more in a Muller Rice pot.Not at any time did a waiter come to our table to ask if we wanted any more drinks, I had to go to the bar myself, yet people around us were getting table service, we were not asked if we would like any water. As for dessert, oh yeah we couldn't get one as we had to leave at 19.15pm to get to the show on time.We spoke to different acting managers and the welcoming staff who managed the tables about how we were not happy. Not one of them was interested in the fact we were not happy. I can honestly say true to my heart, it was the worst experience we have ever had. The lack of interest in the customer if they complain about anything and yes this is what we think it was all about. All because we asked how long our table was going to be. I won't be going back to this restaurant and I wouldn't recommend it to any one.
