Review Time
I bought a Standard (comerical) licence. After I bought and used it - they are now saying I need to pay more and join a corporate plan. (Huh?... for a small business?)So if you think you are safe using this service - think again. I'd suggest using a more reputable service - not one that tries to upsell and revoke your licence. DespositPhotos will put you and your clients at risk.With other stock photo servcies... comerical use is exactly that - for comerical use. Not with DepositPhotos.
There is a great variety of quality photos available. It is very simple to drill down and find what you want. I.e with and without people, etc. I truly have no complaints about the website/photos. However... I have received an inordinate amount of emails from the time I first looked at the website. My hope is that it will STOP now that my purchase and review are complete.
This company would not stop sending me marketing emails, they were so frequent and they didn’t have functionality to unsubscribe, so I had to take the time to contact them by phone and ask them to remove my details from their systems, and I got more junk email the very next day. Serious GDPR breach. I wouldn’t trust this company with your personal information!To respond to your reply… I’m afraid I don’t want to give you my personal details again. And to be honest you don’t need my contact info - your systems opted me into marketing without my consent and your marketing emails don’t allow you to unsubscribe. I think you’ll find the answers in your marketing protocol and data strategy. I spoke to someone in your team twice so speaking to them might be best.Note: Deposit photos sought to have my review removed and I provided evidence to substantiate my review and so the review is deemed legitimate and allowed to remain. I find it interesting that instead of responding to my legitimate concern in a way I suspect will vastly improve your business model (requiring people to subscribe and be spammed in order to make a purchase is a huge deterrent). It will also bring you in line with your data obligations from a legal perspective. It’s really important that businesses take constructive criticism seriously. It can be a blessing. Someone is taking the time to explain how it feels to be a customer of yours. I’m sure I’m far from the only one with this view.
