Our trek to Everest Base Camp through Gokyo Lakes was truly wonderful. Traveling with the service alleviated much of the organizational stress, as they handled everything: from the airport pickup in Kathmandu, where we first met our guide, to the flights to Lukla and the booking of tea houses, along with the necessary paperwork at checkpoints. Due to weather conditions, we experienced a few minor adjustments to our itinerary, which were managed well, but be ready for some adventures outside your comfort zone—we spent one night in a vehicle and had a longer trekking day than initially planned (naturally tailored to our fitness levels). Throughout the trek, our guide consistently ensured our well-being—offering us snacks, reminding us to stay hydrated, measuring our blood oxygen levels, and adapting to our pace. One evening, he even entertained us with his flute and singing. He was warm and accommodating. While his English was sufficient for basic communication and we had a lot of fun together, we occasionally wished for deeper conversations to learn more about the local culture. Our porter was not just a ray of sunshine but also had a knack for music, regularly uplifting our spirits with great tunes during our walks. Meanwhile, the coordinator checked in on us via phone calls, making us feel well-supported. While we appreciated the simplicity of the tea houses, do note that hot showers may not be available everywhere. The stunning views and the trek itself were truly unforgettable! 😉
After an amazing trek to the Annapurna Base Camp in 2023, we returned to Nepal to complete the Manaslu Trek. It was another incredible adventure with the service.
