We had a tree fall on the property I work at, After the electrician got things fixed I called to have Duke put power back to the pole this eneded up being 8 calls, everytime I called the very rude lady on the phone suddenly needed something she didn't tell me about before, I would get that and call back and she'd need something else asked her 5 times is this all you need she said yes call back again and now they need something else. Then they schedule them to come out they came out sat on the property for hours and did nothing, their excuse was ice, so it took more than 2 hours to realize there was ice and you couldn't work???? Then they left trash everywhere, their water and soda bottle cigarette packs how disgusting to do this at a place of business, have half a mind to bring you your garbage back.

Unjust Charges and Poor Service

This month, we faced a bill of about $350, while our usual monthly charge is around $165. This increase is due to additional fees that are meant to support those receiving financial aid for their bills. We also require financial help, but we refuse to exploit government assistance like many others. If only there were a better energy provider, but since the government owns the service, those of us who pay on time end up paying the price. It's absurd, to be honest. They act like crooks. The company has been terrible to deal with, consistently taking advantage of customers. Their actions even contributed to the release of dams in the region during a recent hurricane, all for land acquisition. Clearly, they are exploiting the situation.

Energy rates are unreasonably high

The company significantly inflates energy prices, and it appears the government allows these rate increases. Paying $385 for gas and $215 for electricity feels like a monopoly, especially since they also own the local natural gas provider.

Security concerns while using the platform

On January 8, 2026, I received an email claiming I owed $291, threatening to cut off my power soon. Despite being on autopay for three years, I wondered if my payment method had expired. While logging in, I noticed a suspicious URL that prompted me to exit for security reasons. I suspect someone may have my credentials, and the company needs to enhance their security measures to protect customers.

Power shut off too soon

My power got cut off just 10 days after the bill was due due to non-payment. They also charged me a security deposit that exceeds my typical bill. As a long-term customer, it's shocking that they impose such financial strain on me. Why hasn't a class action suit been filed against them for these practices?

Extra charges for financial assistance

This month, I faced a bill of about $350, while my usual bill is around $165. This spike is due to additional charges meant to cover financial assistance for others. Although I also need help, I refuse to exploit the system like many others. It's frustrating to see that the government owns the company, leaving responsible customers feeling taken advantage of.

Customer service struggles

If possible, I would rate them with zero stars! I've been attempting to set up an installment plan for days, only to be told by multiple representatives that it was feasible. However, a supervisor later claimed it wasn't their responsibility. Their focus seems solely on profit rather than customer care.

Price hikes due to monopoly

In Central Florida, the company has a monopoly and increases prices at will. Power outages are common during storms, and repairs are often delayed. Although they offer auto-pay, they don't accept credit cards. I give them two stars for at least providing outage updates.

Monopoly leads to poor service

Being a customer of this company feels forced due to lack of competition in my area. I've implemented solar energy, but now they're compensating me poorly for the energy I provide, while charging others full price. Additionally, they impose extra monthly charges, essentially charging me twice for using their infrastructure.

Excessive charges

This is the worst energy provider imaginable. Their greed is limitless, as energy prices soar while they continue to impose additional charges on customers, especially following storms.
