Stay far, FAR away from this company! They increased my rate astronomically without any prior notice/heads up. My bill for January was 259 which is normal during the winter. My bill for February was 717. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE. I dropped them instantly. This bill is equivalent to the entire season of Spring in electric bills. Stay away from these people!
Thanks to EcoPlus Electric I'm out $500! Stay away!I hate to trash a (presumably) environmentally conscious company, but after my experience you need to be warned. Bottom line, I am out over $500 because these people cannot or don't bother to communicate.How did this happen? I thought they'd be a good company to switch to, made my application, got a welcome email with a reference number on it, assumed everything was okay. Allowed my old contract with Shipley Electric to lapse, months later found out Eco Plus never enrolled me after all. Never emailed me that there was any problem (they said they made a phone call which obviously never got through, I also didn't get a voicemail). No written communication! No follow-up! What kind of company does this??Shipley charged me for a month out of contract so I got a bill for over $1100 instead of the normal 500 or so. I don't blame Shipley, I never renewed!Emailed upper management at EcoPlus to straighten this out, told him I was out $500 because of their non-communication, got a brusque phone call from a rep who offered me the original deal I thought I had in the first place, nothing more.. Really? They said I gave them my PECO account number instead of this special number that you use to change suppliers. It's true, I made that mistake, but they never told me. That's on them! I offered to sign on if they would credit my account for the amount that they caused me to lose. No response . Expert ghosters.Emailed upper management again, this time no response from them either. I told Travis Tangredi, a principal there, that I was circulating this review. Guess he didn't care - still ghosted. Well at least they're consistent.Looking at their reviews and BBB info, a lot of people warned of sleazy practices, prices suddenly changing, contracts ending without notice. Seems they don't know how to communicate, at the beginning or at the end. They had nothing to gain by not communicating with me, they lost the sale, so I won't say they're purposely cheating people out of money, however, they are sloppy to say the least, and you become the victim if you're not willing to take it all upon yourself. Not a way to do business. So until they figure out how to communicate properly I strongly suggest you stay far away. There are so many other electric suppliers out there to choose from. Be warned. MY DUKE BILL WAS LIKE 100 TIMES MORE BUT I FOUND THIS SUPPLIER AND I MUST SAY THEIR DUKE GAS RATE IS NOT TOO BAD. ITS FIXED FOR 24 MONTHS AND STAYS LOW I LOVE IT. IMPRESSED WITH THE AGENTS THERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. IM NOT SPEAKING FOR EVERYBODY BUT KEVIN JOHNSON WAS THE BEST. GIVE THAT GUY A RAISE.
I never was aware of even signing up. I wouldn't have. A much smaller bill, and I get a grant also during winter, they are eating up. My bill jumped over 100%. I am going to complain to every agency, including Commonwealth Edison, as to how they hijacked my normal bill. This company is trying also to interrupt government subsidies to others, as some sort of service. It appears they are scamming with participants who benefit in ways.
I thought it was going well. been with them for a while, but I guess I should've looked closer. I finally realized there are rando charges that vary month to month. When I tried to contact customer service online, the bot was useless. and i called first thing Monday am when they opened. 9:05 am and I was on hold for nearly an hour as caller 1 when I hung up. I called back, was caller 4, the wait time went up, and now I have been caller 1 for the last 57.54 minutes. I don't think I'm going to get an answer any time soon. I am going to see about what can be done. Dang. What a joke. UPDATE. I never did get through to them, but they got through to me when they saw that I canceled my account. Asked about the charges, it was something to do with the intro program not intro rates, but after that expired then these charges were added. blah blah whatever. So I said forget it. Not worth the hassle. We should be able to switch like PA power switch says and not get penalized especially when you call every month to check on it.

Called and They promised a cheaper rate by 15% or so. In the fall months when you barely use your hvac. Then come the coldest months of the year they increase usage rate 60%. I don’t even know how that is legal. HUGE SCAM. Stay AWAY!!
Lies about the price upfront, doesn't have ANY mention of the additional $36-$48 per month put on the bill under the line item "adder" which is to "protect their margin" which is utter nonsense. Their added fees doubled the cost per kilowatt.
