Review Time
Morocco was amazing. The day to day activities were awesome. The EF staff were so much fun. All accommodations were out of this world. The tour director had lots of cool stories and knew the area. He did not allow shopping time and that was disappointing. A 30 min stop only gives us time to use a washroom and get back to the bus in time. He promised free time but when free time was given it was at food places. I feel that time could have been used more wisely to accommodate the travellers requests.
One of the hotels booked was a 2 star motel in Montreal, half of which was government subsidized housing. There was drug dealers, violence and other dangers all around our children. It was unsafe and more thought and time should have went into picking hotels to ensure safety and cleanliness.
My 17-year old daughter went on a trip to Switzerland, Italy, France and Spain. It was her first trip abroad without us. She had a great time. She said the tour guide was excellent. She would like to do another EF trip. As a parent the trip was well organized and all the admin details were easy to deal with. I was very happy to deal with EF Tours and would highly recommend it to parents looking to have their teenager travel.
My group (started with 41 people - 35 students, 6 adults) did the Adriatic Odyssey tour in July of 2025. It was not without its issues (as any trip), only this time the issues were pretty major, a medical return to Canada and a lost passport. The support from EF was absolutely incredible. Both issues were resolved very satisfactorily and quickly. The tour itself with Dan Callinan as our Tour Director was amazing even with the hiccups we encountered. He was professional (as always) and made great connections with everyone in the group. I feel very fortunate to have travelled with Dan twice and honestly would not want to do a tour of Europe with someone else. My experiences with EF prior to and post trip were excellent as my Tour and Customer Care Consultants, Genevieve and Natali were quick to respond to questions and were crucial in helping me to prepare for this trip. I would always choose to travel with EF when travelling with students.
BUYER BEWARE!!This is the 2nd trip I’ve completed with EF Tours/go Ahead Tours and the 4th for my wife.Unfortunately, based on this past experience we are UNLIKELY to travel EVER again with EF Tours due to…Poor Airline arraignments that caused delays leading to missing a day and 1/2 of the trip. Very Likely you won’t be assigned a seat next to your travel partner on international flight as this happened the last trip and this trip. Our On-Tour-Guide was indifferent and not helpful with us meeting up with the group, requiring us to push for and pay out of pocket to meet up with the group so we didn’t miss Stonehenge a marquis destination and a major reason we selected this itinerary. On-Tour-Guide said we could just meet up at the end of the day which would have missed out on visiting Stonehenge. Excursions were rushed and too many “Free” days meant more out of pocket expenses not budgeted. Example; A tour that was supposed to be 4hrs long was rushed through in 3hrs which meant we missed out on 25% of what was there to experience.Travel Insurance claim is painful to deal with and very limited on the $ reimbursed for what we missed and had to pay out of pocket.Of course, there is alot more detail to share but this sums it up.IN SUMMARY:Quite Expensive TripRushed ExcursionsToo Much “Free” Time.Indifferent Travel Guide - Weak Knowledge and Little On-trip GuidanceAlot of Extra Out-of-Pocket Expenses.
Our daughter had fun with her friends but we were disappointed in the lack of tours and information as well as the allotted amount for meals on their own given the very high cost of the trip. They had to spend their own money on food several times despite being told it was included. The tours were short and not very educational or sometimes even interesting. The layover in Toronto was ridiculously long to be stuck in the airport. France itself was lovely and she felt safe with the guide, though two buses did hit things and the guide changed part way through the tour.
