Concerning Assessment Practices and Lack of Communication
I had a very disappointing experience with Entry Education during my enrolment in one of their certificate programs.
I submitted the same assessment for a unit of competency on two separate occasions, making a genuine effort each time to meet the requirements to the best of my knowledge and understanding. Both submissions were rejected, not due to the substance of my responses, but for what appeared to be minor administrative or technical issues such as formatting details, unmatched links, and the absence of a report title.
In my view, these issues were disproportionate to the purpose and level of the assessment and did not reflect a fair or reasonable evaluation of the competency demonstrated. This raised concerns for me about whether the assessments were being properly reviewed against learning outcomes, or whether the marking process was overly rigid and procedural rather than focused on academic merit.
I was also repeatedly encouraged by Entry Education to complete the course in person at additional cost. Given that my online assessments were failed for what I consider minor technical reasons, this created the impression that undue pressure may have been applied to push students toward face-to-face delivery, which further undermined my confidence in the fairness of the process.
The repeated assessment failures over minor issues were discouraging and caused me significant distress. As a result, I decided not to continue with the course and formally applied for withdrawal and a refund of the fees paid. However, despite submitting this request, I have received no acknowledgement or response from Entry Education to date.
Overall, my experience has left me concerned about the transparency, fairness, and integrity of the assessment process, as well as the lack of communication regarding withdrawal and refunds. I would advise prospective students, particularly online learners, to carefully consider these issues before enrolling.
