Initially, I would have rated this service five stars, but it has turned into a frustrating experience. The company has utilized professional photographers as mere test subjects, developing a consumer-facing AI tool that they claim eliminates the need for photographers altogether. The first communication I received was a strange 'apology' regarding something they were testing that 'accidentally went live.' Eventually, they offered a more genuine apology, but it felt too late to make a difference. Now, they have hidden the portrait and headshot tools on a different site related to art, and I can't even share the link here. This feels like a total breach of trust and a significant ethical misstep. It would have been more respectful to involve photographers in this new venture, especially since it wouldn't have been possible without our contributions!
I’m very pleased with the software. It is intuitive, quick, and produces high-quality results, particularly for portrait retouching. The AI tools significantly reduce editing time while still offering great control over the final appearance. Overall, this software has become a crucial element of my photo editing process, and I’m satisfied with the outcomes it delivers.
Untrustworthy company undermining its own talent by promoting a low-cost alternative - AI-generated headshots. I understand the need for revenue, but to do this during the imaging process and in such an obvious manner is disgraceful. It's a disappointing and distasteful approach.
My account, which I had recently renewed for $269, was cancelled without any explanation. To make matters worse, I have not received a refund for the amount. I will update my review if they reverse the cancellation, but at this point, I have not received any response, and the support team seems unavailable.
The service has great potential, but I encountered a software problem where my edits wouldn't upload. Each time I spent hours making changes, it would only upload my images without the edits. This was costly for me. I reached out to the support team and received an automated response advising me to delete the app and re-upload after providing pictures of my images, screenshots, and my laptop information. Unfortunately, they have not issued any credits back despite my multiple emails, and I received no further responses.
Evoto was innovative when I started using it in 2023, one of the first tools using AI for photo retouching. However, newer AI technologies have now far surpassed it, and the platform no longer feels competitive.Unfortunately, I also had a poor experience with their support team — they refused to send me an official email confirming my subscription cancellation, even though my account still shows as active. They just told me to “trust their words” on the live chat of their website — a temporary chat that disappears once closed — instead of providing an official written confirmation with legal validity, which is the only real guarantee a user can rely on for legal purposes.
Warning About Evoto AI’s Credit PolicyJust a heads-up to other photographers using Evoto AI — if you downgrade your plan or let your renewal come up, you lose all credits above your new plan’s rollover limit.In my case, I’ve spent $651 USD on credits, but will lose 6,373 unused credits (about $351 USD worth) simply because I’m no longer on the higher-tier plan.That effectively triples my real editing cost from $0.055 to about $0.17 per photo — a nasty surprise I didn’t see coming.Evoto’s editing tools are good, but this rollover limit makes their pricing misleading and predatory. Think twice before buying large credit packs unless you plan to stay on the same paid plan indefinitely.
I barely even used my basic subscription plan and never touched my pay as you go (credit) yet ending my subscription ended my pay as you go plan (by company policy it is valid for 2 years) and it hasn't even been a year yet. It hard or almost impossible to reach out to anyone within the company and at best don't even fix the problem or situation being emailed.
Works But has issues, I purchased the 800 credits, but every time I upload Evoto doesn't work, it uploads my images WITHOUT my edits so, if you uploaded 30 images and the edits didn't go through, you would have to pay for those images WITHOUT edits. I contacted Evoto & they told me to delete and download the software again. it worked but I was screwed out of credits. evoto did not credit me for them so be careful. I did some research & this is an actual issue. (Be warned) No real person addressed me, just a bot.
