I appreciate the opportunity to share my thoughts on a very unsatisfactory meat purchase. I urge others to read reviews before making a decision.
Feedback on recent purchase. My family and I occasionally buy roasting joints for gatherings and have generally been satisfied with the quality. However, this time, we were quite let down by the roast.
We followed the cooking instructions carefully, removing the joint at the recommended temperature since we prefer our beef rare. After resting, it was served.
While the exterior seemed well-cooked, the interior was firm and pink.
Regrettably, the meat was extremely tough, making it difficult to cut even with sharpened knives. Each slice required significant effort, and chewing it was quite exhausting. The next day, I simmered the slices in stock, but they remained tough.
I expected the ribeye to be tender, and I believed the cut would complement it. Unfortunately, I now understand that this joint needed braising to be enjoyable. I feel for the family who prepared it, as they might blame themselves, and I am disappointed that I paid a significant amount for this experience. I would appreciate a response regarding how to better prepare such a joint and any advice on modifying this for other review platforms. Sincerely, very disappointed.
Our experience mirrors many others! We have relied on this company for years, especially during the holiday season, without any issues—until now. Since the company changed ownership, things have taken a turn for the worse. Our order was late, and upon unpacking, we discovered missing items, including the large pig in blanket. I reached out to customer service via email and spent two days trying to call. When I finally got through, the representative claimed to work for the new owners and could only assist with tracking orders. I questioned how they could operate independently after the acquisition, and they confirmed the buyout. We will not be returning to this company; customer service has been horrendous, with generic responses and countless disconnections when trying to resolve our issue. We will now seek a refund and advise others to avoid this company. R.I.P. to the previous brand, which deserved better treatment of its customers.
I almost gave a one-star review, but my order did arrive a day late. Having used this service several times over the last five years, including last Christmas, I won't be returning. I placed my holiday order in early November and received confirmation, but no further updates. I tried contacting them via phone, email, WhatsApp, and Instagram on the 23rd to check on my delivery, but received no communication. I finally got a response on Instagram saying they would pass my inquiry to customer service. Still, no one followed up, and I found out my order hadn’t even shipped until the 23rd. After braving the supermarket for alternatives, I received a call saying my order had been delivered. I'm relieved to have a turkey, but the customer service has been incredibly disappointing. This company used to be reliable, but that’s no longer the case.
I have previously left positive reviews, but I will never order again. I ordered three large pigs in blankets for Christmas dinner in late October. They did not arrive, and my emails and phone calls went unanswered, leaving me on hold for over 10 minutes before being cut off. This was not how I wanted to spend Christmas Eve. Shocking service—don’t order!
I've been a customer for several years and usually have had a great experience. This year, however, there were some hiccups with delivery delays and poor communication. We did manage to speak with customer service, who were helpful, and our turkey arrived without issue. Given the recent reviews, we feel fortunate but may reconsider ordering next year. Better communication about the changes and possible delays would help restore the brand's reputation.
Extremely disappointing. I placed a Christmas order in October, expecting it on the 22nd, then the 23rd, only to be informed on the 23rd that they couldn't fulfill my order at all. This is unacceptable. I've used this service before with satisfaction, but this will be my last experience. Like many others, I now have to navigate the holiday rush to find what wasn't delivered. The customer service is dreadful; they must have known about the issues long before notifying customers.
From reading other reviews, I was fortunate that most of my £200 order placed in October arrived, but it was confirmed incomplete on December 14th and delivered without the Giant Pig in Blanket. While it's just £15, the lack of communication and unanswered calls is unacceptable. Another customer lost to this business.
I ordered a Christmas turkey, bacon, and sausages for delivery on December 22nd. They did not arrive and still have not arrived as of the 23rd. The company has not responded to my email or WhatsApp messages. I will not be ordering from them again.
Ordered in October for delivery on 20th December. Now the 23rd and no sign of it. Emailed and messaged via WhatsApp but no response, just a general email saying they will answer queries as soon as they can. Tried to phone, no one picked it up.So, have to claim a refund and go shopping now.
