Read some reviews and was apprehensive at first. Deleted an item in shopping cart because it said 4 weeks for delivery. No other items said this. After buying 1300.00 worth of coins, a message is included with online receipt on 03-17-2023 that orders will take 3 weeks for delivery. So by April 10th I will edit my review here and elsewhere accordingly. OK here it is 4-11-23 this writing. GC sent an email on 4-1-23 asking me to call them to verify CC, which had not been charged yet. I called the next day, verified, and the card was charged. I have not received product yet, so now I remember that the message included with online receipt on 03-17-2023 that 'orders will take 3 weeks for delivery after your payment clears'. So the clock starts 4-2-23 because my payment cleared. I will update more ~ 4-25-23 It is 4-24-23. I tried several phone calls for several days before they answered finally on 4-18-23. Asked when I could expect my order. Ivette answered "they could be shipped tomorrow next week or at the latest, the first week of May." She cited Maple leaf coins are a problem at the moment. So we will see what the 1st week of May brings! Called GC on 5-1-23 asking if coins will be sent this week. They said that my order was over 30 days old and that alert was being sent to their acct dept and that I will receive an email on the status. They are still using the Maple leaf coin excuse. There has been no email or response whatsoever. Called again on 5-8-23. Was given exact same response, only they said they were mailing this week. In was about to call again on 5-15-23, but got an email stating that the coins had been shipped. They arrived on 5-18-23. It took 2 months to receive the coins. It would have been better if they kept me informed along the way. The buying price was good in March and the coins were as described, but the delivery time was extensive. I will give them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to availability of the coins so I will leave it at 3 stars.

I've been buying gold for years

I've been buying gold for years. Here are my latest thoughts on Gainesville.I purchased 10 (1 ounces) Gold American Eagles on January 31 2023 from Gainesville Coins. Originally the order said it would ship out by March 10th. And you better get a check to them immediately. After they receive it, they require a 10 day holding time. After they received my check and the 10 days went by they then changed my order to be shipped on March 17th. About 2 weeks before the expected shipping date they changed it again claiming due to Covid! With no expected shipping date. Mind you, Banks are collapsing, stock market is crashing and their holding over $19,900 of my money. I called the receptionist and she knew nothing about the Covid problems. I told her I wanted my stuff now and I'm not waiting anymore. The only thing I got from them was a email that said thanks for your patience. At that point I filed a complaint with the BBB and cc it to my attorney. They did ship after they received the complaint.Here's the bottom line.Go on EBay and buy from one of the trusted dealers. i.e. D.B.S.COINS, Bullion Exchanges, Pinehurst, AYDIN or APMEX. These dealers are about $60 a ounce more for American Eagles. But! You can put it on your credit card and if you use a card like I do, that pays 2.75% cash back that's $57 paid back to you.You get your gold fast and secure if you deal with one of these reputable dealers. No more playing the Gainesville waiting game for me! That business does not do that much selling that it takes months to get your stuff. One of these days they'll be sitting on a huge amount of customer cash and next thing you know, the doors will be locked. Its a tell tail sign about what's to come next. I've always got what I ordered from them and always at a fair price, but no more waiting for me. As long as they've been in the Gold business they should know better.

Order not received and no message reply. AVOID!!!

I placed an order on 1/15/23. Never received the order. Contacted them many times after talking to Ivette once and never received a call or any acknowledgement of my lost order. I tested them out with a 2 1oz silver round purchase followed by an 8 1oz silver round, which I never got. $258 and no replies. Thankfully I decided to test them out before I spent any real money. This company is deplorable. They literally stole my money! Nate and Ivette ignored my calls and emails.

Piggybacking onto the other reviews…

Piggybacking onto the other reviews about customer service and shipping......We ordered at the beginning of October, on the recommendation of a friend. Nowhere are shipping turnaround times of 4+ weeks mentioned but after I finally reached a live person, after a week of trying and leaving about 5 messages, which they do not return, I was told to expect that. When I finally got a tracking number on November 4 (almost five weeks after ordering) we thought things were OK. However, today, 11/20/22, we STILL have not received our package. I attempted 4-5 times to speak to someone about it and when I finally reached a live person I was told that "I am the only person here and call volume is high" in a snippy voice as if I were at fault for trying to find out where my order was. I was also informed it's not their fault if priority mail takes LONGER with the USPS, and did I remember that November 11 was a holiday? It's absolutely shocking, and meanwhile, they have a LOT of our money, while we have no product to show for it. This was a mistake of epic proportions. I hope we do not have to get an attorney involved, but since almost 8 weeks have passed since we placed our order it's looking that way.

shipping dates full of LIES

Ordered $5766.00 worth of coins on 10/19/22. Before ordering i was assured i would receive and needed my order by thanksgiving because they were gifts for my visiting out of state children for Christmas gifts. After calling back multiple times i got a different shipping date each time of 10/31,11/9,11/15 which neither happened. When calling, your on hold 15-20 minutes each time. 4th time calling i was told 4-5 weeks in business days which equates to about 2 months. Lied to or told me what i wanted to hear each call then got hung up on when i questioned the multiple shipping date lies. Won't receive order in time or maybe never. BUYER BEWARE. Something so simple seems to be very difficult for this company.

pros and cons

pros and cons : takes too long to get silver rounds, but the lowest premiums anywhere so it was worth the wait for me THIS TIME.....however if silver price jumps while your waiting...im not sure if there might be problems so i will pay a tiny bit more to pick up right away elsewhere. PS: lowest premium is a smart business model... they would DOMINATE THE MARKET if they got more product moving. then i would buy from them again. so i will monitor future reviews......we'll see.....

Complete thieves

Complete thieves. Don’t do business with these guys. Places an order and then after they got the money via bank wire they then explained (after 2 phone calls and two different representatives who didn’t know what the holdup was) I spoke with Luis and he told me there was a 4 week backlog and that I wouldn’t get a refund without a restocking fee. No where does it state the turn around would be 4 weeks. That’s ridiculous. And nick the manager was completely oblivious to the fact that 4 weeks for a coin turn around means they didn’t actually have the product in stock. So there shouldn’t be a restocking fee. These guys are bad news

The WORST customer service

I totally agree with the other reviews about poor customer service. They tell you 7 to 10 days for shipping and now I am told it will be 4 more weeks on top of that. The person I talked to in customer service was soooooo rude. They are in it just for them and NOT their customer. Do not buy from them. They have your money by wire transfer and you can not cancel when they add a month to your shipping time.

Goodbye Gainesville

Have ordered from them in the past with no issues, now their customer service and communication are horrible and they are quick to take your money, but slow to actually get you your assets. I'm done with them and moving on to other dealers. Their slightly lower premium is not worth the hassle anymore.
