We bought evacuation insurance for our trip to Kenya. Unfortunately, my husband became ill, and the service refused to evacuate him from the camp in Nairobi to the hospital. They stated he needed to be considered stable by a medical professional before they could assist. We were attempting to transfer him to a medical facility! What is the purpose of evacuation insurance if a doctor must be present before they will help? I reached out via email on two separate occasions to request a refund for the premium we paid, but they have completely ignored my messages.
Exceptional service, and we've depended on the company for years. They run an outstanding medical operations desk and have helped me in Patagonia, coordinating with my healthcare providers. Truly remarkable service. Highly recommended.
Do not spend your money on this service. They present themselves as a premium rescue provider, but they are just a bureaucratic hassle. When I needed immediate help, I faced endless forms and excuses instead of prompt action. Their 'field rescue' is merely a marketing ploy. Save your money and choose a trustworthy travel insurance option instead. Very dissatisfied.
I have not had to file a claim, so I can't provide a full rating. My only concern so far is the lack of coverage for couples—it's only for individuals or families. I shouldn't be paying the same rates as a family of four or six since it's just my spouse and I traveling.
