The service did not provide any collection points within a 30-mile radius, nor did they offer time estimates until the package was out for delivery. Subsequently, they gave a two-hour window but arrived more than two hours after it ended. Additionally, the tracking link for the vehicle was shared an hour after the time slot and often appeared to be completely inaccurate.
I asked DHL to switch from "signature required" to "leave in a safe place" Well, no signature was sought, but the parcel was dumped at the front door, exposed to the public and the elements. No attempt to ring the door bell, no attempt to leave the parcel in the designated safe place (I was sitting overlooking the DSP). Fortunately, I saw the parcel and retrieved it.
I appreciate that at the end of a long day of deliveries the desire to hunt down someone’s front door (albeit the postie manages it) may be waning. However to not deliver with the reason being ‘consignee premises closed’ is a bit ridiculous. It’s my home it definitely wasn’t closed. My family and I live there and were definitely in.
