Very disappointed with GYMBOX and I’m on the verge of cancelling I’m shocked at my experience today somebody has stolen my property and it’s not the first time the gym is fairly clean but half of the showers are broken the Sauna isn’t even working consistently the towels they provide smell and half of the time u go for a shower there’s no shampoo or conditioner and if u go to the gym after 4 u will wait 10 -20minutes for almost any piece of equipment you need to use even cardio machines are all busy and booking any of there classes is a myth as it’s fully booked in minutes so what is the point in staying at a gym with poor customer service and people who think it’s funny to mess with somebody that has a long term health condition I urge you all to steer clear of this place I’m referring to the Ealing gymbox.

I've been a member for several months with an active direct debit, but since January 1, 2026, I've been locked out for over two weeks due to a payment issue. My bank confirmed my direct debit is active, yet the gym did not process the payment. I've reached out for assistance, but the response has been more than five days late, and my ticket was marked resolved without clarification. This situation has cost me £67.50 without any benefit, and I cannot recommend this gym due to its poor customer service. There are more affordable options with friendlier staff available.

Extremely Frustrating Experience

I cancelled my gym membership during the cooling-off period in July 2025 without ever attending. The cancellation was confirmed in writing by the support team, who also stated that a full refund was being processed. However, six months later, I'm receiving threatening emails claiming I owe money, which will be sent to a debt collection agency. I called in December and was assured my account was closed with no balance. The fact that these demands come from a no-reply email adds to the frustration, as it hinders resolution. I've had to reopen the original ticket to dispute a non-existent debt. This has been a stressful experience due to poor internal communication. I strongly advise anyone considering joining to keep thorough records and closely check cancellation confirmations.

I've been a member of this gym for a few months with an ongoing direct debit. Since January 1, 2026, I've been unable to access the gym for over two weeks due to a supposed unpaid balance. My bank confirmed that my direct debit is active and that the gym did not request payment. Consequently, the access issue stems from an error on the gym's part. I also incurred an extra £8 charge. I've reached out to membership services, but their response has been over five days late, and my ticket was closed without explanation. I have no idea if the issue is resolved or if it will recur. Despite understanding this may be a technical glitch, the customer service has been shockingly inadequate, resulting in a two-week gym lockout costing me £67.50. I do not recommend this gym; there are cheaper options in London with better service.

The gym itself is good but often busy. However, their customer service is lacking, taking five business days to respond, only to send an automated reply that doesn't address my question before closing my ticket. I expected better service given the membership cost.

Safety Concerns for Women

Based on my experience, I did not feel safe at this gym as a woman. On December 18, 2025, I faced verbal and physical abuse from another male member, which left me extremely distressed. No staff members intervened during the incident, and afterward, there was no follow-up to check on my wellbeing. Despite believing the offender would be banned, both my friend and I were banned without explanation. This experience made me feel unsupported and vulnerable. Additionally, the sauna has been out of service for a long time, adding to my overall disappointment. I urge women to consider their safety before training here.

Unpleasant Training Environment

I joined this gym five months ago and was initially impressed by its design. However, the atmosphere is uncomfortable for working out. The gym opens at 6 AM, and while it's peaceful at that time, by 7 AM, it becomes overcrowded, making it hard to train. There are often long queues just to enter, and finding a locker is challenging. Promotions to attract more members only exacerbate the overcrowding. I regret signing a one-year contract for a gym where I can’t work out comfortably. I do not recommend this place.

I tried Gymbox Westfield for a month, but be sure to cancel on the same day you sign up, as it’s not straightforward. I was seeking a balance between my previous training and a budget gym. Pros include a wider variety of classes and a decent setup for calisthenics. However, classes are frequently cancelled or merged with inconsistent trainers, and there's a lack of functional fitness equipment. The branding feels outdated. In summary, Gymbox doesn't justify its high price compared to my previous gym. For good coaching, consider a specialist gym; for basic workouts, a budget gym suffices. This place disappointingly fails to excel in either area.
