We recently had some fitted wardrobes installed by hammonds. We are based in Wheldrake, York.
We had a great experience from start to finish.
Phil, our designer took us through our options and came up with a great design that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Derek our fitter was great. After meeting him for 1 minute I felt comfortable leaving him at out house to carry out the work.
Wow! Did he do a good job. 10/10.
I really hope that he gets the recognition he deserves for his hard work and attention to detail.

Sam from Hammonds did an excellent job fitting my wardrobes in two rooms. He was on time, friendly, and listened to my questions and preferences. I really appreciated how he made small adjustments so the wardrobes suited my needs perfectly. His workmanship is excellent, and the whole experience was smooth and stress-free — especially as I was juggling Teams calls during the installation! The rooms were left immaculate, and Sam even arranged for the leftover materials to be collected, so I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Highly recommend
Having completed the fitting of bedroom furniture by a very competent installer, I was most surprised and disappointed to discover the headboard finish was completely unsatisfactory. The headboard consists of 6 soft panels attached to a chipboard panel, which attaches to the wall via two brackets. Unfortunately, when viewed from the side the chipboard edge is clearly visible and detracts from the whole installation.
As soon as I noticed this I contacted Hammonds customer services and also made a claim. Knowing all their emails are 'no reply' made me think this is a company that wants to make it difficult for customers to contact them I was sceptical that Hammonds would be one these companies that do not want to know about problems!
Sure enough, this has proven to be correct, like others have said, Hammonds is not a company with great customer service once the installation is complete. I had talked to a number of people at Hammonds about this and all said they would get something done, obviously I have had no calls, in fact no feedback whatsoever, the people I tried to help were Stuart Rich, the designer who visited me and Liz Downes who always said leave it with me and I'll get someone onto it but I now know, their promises can be taken with 'a pinch of salt'. They, like everyone else I talked to at Hammonds had no interest in helping, just wanted to get me off the phone and never called me back regarding this situation.
The only professionalism I have experienced with Hammonds is the installer, who, incidentally is self employed!
It is understandable that their last two years accounts are showing losses.
There are other more professional suppliers out there and I would advise avoiding contact with Hammonds!
Shuaib designed a media wall and 2 bedrooms for us. We are so pleased we thought we'd like him to come up with ideas for our hall. Another great design and a lot of discussion on what would work for the space and what we need to get from the space. Again we are using same designer, surveyor and fitter from hammonds. We have been very pleased with the service from hammonds.
We are truly delighted with our new installation. From the initial sales call to the surveyor and the office support, everything has been flawless. I greatly appreciated the absence of hard sales tactics, and after our introductory meeting, we visited the studio to finalize our order. Our fitter was exceptional, and we can't express enough gratitude for his outstanding craftsmanship. It was a joy to have him in our home for two days, and the media unit looks stunning. We also appreciate the care taken with our new floor, keeping the house tidy throughout the process, and for the kindness shown to our beloved spaniel during his visits. I designed the wardrobe to better fit our needs and I absolutely love it. This is the second time we've had this service for a wardrobe installation. It was a bit pricier than standard options, but it was definitely worth it. The installer was friendly and very tidy. I can't recommend this service highly enough... thank you!
This was one of the best decisions I've made. The service was excellent, with staff who were both friendly and supportive. The estimated time was adhered to throughout the process. Our fitter was diligent and did a fantastic job. The units installed around the bedroom not only fit perfectly but also surprisingly made the room appear larger. I was quite impressed by the design options that met my needs for a compact home office. A standout feature was the painted finish that allows me to match it with an existing wooden cupboard. It would have been the perfect design package if a vertical elevation drawing had been included in the documentation.
