Absolute shambles. Totally overpriced, dishonest staff and absolutely no customer care. Our room had a sewage smell and we gave them the chance to fix this. They were unable to do so and we waited with our bags in reception until nearly midnight for an alternative room. Both members of staff agree that the smell was bad enough for us to be moved. In the morning we were told that we could have complimentary breakfast as an apology. The rooms are small and basic and not worth the money. Despite raising the concerns with head office we were told that complimentary breakfast was more than adequate as an apology for an awful night stay. I think they get their business from the cruise ships so don’t have any regard for customer satisfaction. If you want to sleep in a room with no windows that open and the smell of sewage and receive rude communications then this is the hotel for you. My advice, avoid. For a couple of hundred more per night you could stay at The Savoy and be treated with kindness and politeness.
The hotel staff were lovely, but so disappointed that there’s a charge of £10 for a cooked breakfast - continental breakfast included but so very sugar heavy, we stayed here years ago and at that time any breakfast food was included in the price of the room ( which is quite expensive) we have stayed in many 4 star hotels and not experienced this before, it’s a shame, as we will think twice before booking to stay at harbour hotels in future, no reflection in the staff as they were lovely - but shame on the senior leader who sanctioned this, why?
Room was meant to be twin superior but not the room we picked online when we asked about this though was told web pictures changed though checked week before we were getting the room we chose. Balcony shared by other. Housekeeping was appalling some days towels left other days no towels. Everything was hit and miss with this service. The bathroom had black mould all up the tiled corner wall and around the shower door. When complained a quick squirt of masic was added but the mould could still been seen. Seats in bedroom staines all over them. Walls touched up with wrong paint shade. Beds thrown back never made well. Arrival bar restaurant staff still bottling up when service was in place and when asked to order which we went to the bar to do. Bar supervisor most unpleasant rude and huffing and throwing things around for being disturbed from bottling up by a untrained staff member who took our order. Restaurant bar employee male wearing scuff jeans hanging off him and looked very scuff for restaurant waiter. Swimming pool outside just about wide enough for two but not great Car park was over subscribed so every night coming back was stressful as only other place to park is a car park across the road at a charge of £8.00 over night. All in all tired hotel and summer hotels had not even started. The only good thing to say about or stay was the two girls on reception dealt with all our room service issues as quick as they could and were always apologising for the house keeping staff. Finally tv Internet drops out all the time and Sunday morning we had no hot water until early afternoon. Will not be recommending or retur ing.
Not a great welcome back from Harbour Hotel Brighton. It is a big let down from the Harbour hotel to send a discount code to welcome back a customer who has stayed at the hotel previously and cannot use the code to book a night at the hotel with the discount code. Not only that there is no option when booking to apply a discount code. I will look for somewhere else to stay and i was booking direct with the hotel and booked direct last time. Lost a customer as a result.
We had our event on the 26th June in Harbour hotel Guildford. Our yearly summer BBQ. Had about 50 attendees outside the patio bit after our CPD talk. If I remember, it was Emily and Amy that served us through the whole night. Amazing young women who we are ever so grateful with every request for the night they tend to. The night couldn’t have gone any smoother without them. Such polite and great people/customer skills they have. Thank you ever so much!
Harbour Spa Southampton. Paid £125 for 1 hour all over body massage and was not impressed. Time of treatment moved forward which messed up other plans. Massage was done in 40 minutes. Cold room. No heated beds. Therapist had long nails which dug in. Claim to use Elemis products yet the ones out for use were not Elemis. Very painful massage and fronts of legs and décolletage completely missed. Never again.
Arranged a birthday celebration dinner several months in advance for 35 people with Sophie Caddock who was very helpful and friendly. The venue, food and waiting staff were excellent, everyone had a great time on what was a very special occasion! Many thanks Sophie and team!
Had a great stay at Harbour Hotel Guildford. Lovely room, friendly & helpful staff. Had a lovely evening meal - desserts let it down a little as one had almonds which I didn't like & the cheesecake was a little tasteless. Breakfasts were great. Had an included treatment which was nice but only lasted 40 minutes rather than the one hour advertised. If I'd have paid the £95 listed price I would not have been happy. Despite setting up an account prior to the massage & completing the medical form online that I was asked to do, checking it had been received etc, I was still asked to complete the same form prior to the massage. I was airily told they couldn't be accessed that day. As the massage & Spa was a big reason for booking, the experience at HarSpa was a big disappointment.
