Our boiler broke, we have no heating or hot water. There’s a light dusting of snow outside so it’s very cold and we have a toddler to keep warm. My husband ordered a boiler from Heatable and booked installation for Tuesday. The boiler got delivered on a big lorry, they made it here fine from much further away. The engineer however decided he couldn’t drive to Buxton from Manchester because of the weather. Which is a load of rubbish because he could have taken the A road and there would be no problems. The roads are completely clear round here. Now when we ring customer service we get put in a queue and when you reach position 1 it just hangs up. Sometimes we get through and they say they are ‘checking the weather and trying to sort it’. What does that even mean? If you’re waiting for a sunny day you’ll be waiting a long time since it’s February. People need boilers in the winter, you should be able to manage driving on main roads in any weather or you wouldn’t be making much business. It’s just so so poor. The next day installation is a massive con. Sort it out

British Gas let me down badly so I had to cancel. Looking around I found Heatable, a "Which Trusted Trader" with some fantastic reviews. Their website is both intuitive and easy to use. Having created a quote I was happy with, I decided to phone them.

On speaking to Rob, 18th December. I was immediately put at ease as it was obvious he knew his business.

I confirmed the quote and paid in advance, (a little disconcerting) with the promise that a new Vaillant EcoTech Plus Combi-Boiler would be relocated to my airing cupboard and would be installed on 22nd & 23rd December.
Some minor clarifications regarding the flue and controls were required and sending photographs as required by Heatable.

I needn't have worried, Glenn Betts, the installer phoned on the evening of 21st December (a Sunday) to introduce himself and to discuss the install. True to his word Glenn arrived on the 22nd at 7:30. Wolsey delivered the boiler and most of the plumbing parts duly arrived at 8:15am. Glenn Started work, when he left in the evening about 9:00pm, we had a working, relocated boiler, which drained condensate in to a bucket.

Glenn would carry out the rather complex routing of the condensate pipework and the removal of the old boiler and bricking of the old flue hole and internal plasterwork the following day. Which he did.

I had paid for a pro-flush of the radiators which Glenn said was unnecessary as the heating water was clean. He spoke to Heatable and they said they would refund me. Glenn left mid afternoon on December 23rd.

Fast-forward to the New Year and we'd been warm all Christmas. Priceless.

It became apparent that the maximum heating flow temperature was set higher than I would like at 70C and I didn't know how to change it. Also the controls supplied did not do all I'd expected them to. Speaking to Patrick at Heatable it was arranged that Joe, a Gas Safe engineer would visit 12th January and would deliver an "internet gateway" which allows the use of the Vaillant app. Joe duly arrived and sorted it all for me. Fantastic.

Exceptional Boiler Installation Experience

I recently had a new boiler installed at my home by the company, and I am thoroughly impressed with the entire experience.
