Avoid this service! The billing practices are aggressive, communication is poor, and the administrative support is unhelpful. We have spent thousands on diagnoses and follow-up appointments just for the Psychiatrist to transfer medication rights to the general practitioner. They only respond to a single phone number/email, and if the bill isn't settled before the appointment, they feel it's acceptable to contact next of kin for payment. Overall, a very frustrating and costly experience, and I cannot recommend them.
Caution: Steer clear of this service - deceptive and exploitative practices! They charge excessive fees and lack transparency. My first consultation was $725, and the second exceeded $1000. I was misled into the appointment; the initial conversation with the booking representative was entirely misleading. I clearly stated my needs in three different interactions but was never informed that my request was unfeasible. I expressed concerns about the costs, which were more than I had previously paid, and was assured it was a standard fee. Unfamiliar with telehealth psychiatry, I was unaware of the implications. I had already been diagnosed by a face-to-face psychiatrist who had passed away. During my consultation, the psychiatrist claimed I needed blood and urine tests before they could prescribe. If that was necessary, it should have been discussed beforehand. Paying $725 only to be told to make a second appointment costing over $1000 is undoubtedly fraudulent.
I reached out via email to inquire about an autism diagnosis as an adult. They assured me it was possible, prompting me to request a referral from my GP. Immediately, I received multiple attempts to contact me, including a threatening message stating they would close my file if I did not book. Booking was only possible by phone, which added to my anxiety. Despite explaining my difficulties with communication and requesting more time, I received a dismissive response. For a service that claims to cater to neurodivergent individuals, their lack of understanding in communication is baffling. I chose not to proceed with booking due to discomfort and concerns about their motives.
I began with a hopeful experience being diagnosed with ADHD through the service. My treatment started, but I had to switch psychiatrists as my diagnosing doctor was said to be unavailable (she is still listed on their website). I went for a routine yearly consultation since GP's in the area will only prescribe for 6 months, requiring me to see the psychiatrist once a year. My initial diagnosis acknowledged my long-term self-medication with cannabis, and the diagnosing doctor prescribed Ritalin, which significantly helped me reduce my cannabis use. However, before my recent appointment, my Ritalin prescription expired, leaving me without treatment for several weeks. During this time, I obtained a new cannabis prescription similar to the one I had when first diagnosed. At my latest appointment, the doctor immediately criticized me about the psychosis risk without allowing me to explain my situation or ask any questions about my history. He denied me treatment, resulting in a $900 charge for the lecture, with no effort to understand my circumstances. He informed my GP that he would not prescribe Ritalin due to my cannabis prescription. I complied and canceled my cannabis prescription, sending confirmation to the service. When I requested to see a different psychiatrist to resume my treatment, I was terminated without explanation. I have repeatedly tried to obtain my original diagnosis report, but the service claims it was sent to my GP, whom I cannot see. They ignored my requests for the report, and after multiple follow-ups, I was told to send an email, despite already having sent several. They seem to be ignoring me again. This service has caused me significant stress, anxiety, and mental anguish, leaving me unmedicated for months and affecting my personal and professional life. I hope the new laws in the area will lead to better treatment options soon.
I encountered a very rude customer service experience while trying to book an appointment. Despite having a previous diagnosis, they wouldn't verify if my psychiatrist would accept my case as is. When I expressed my concerns, I was met with impatience, making me hesitant to pay a substantial fee for a service that might not meet my needs.
