UPDATE - Still no response from Hickleys despite numerous requests, finally received a refund courtesy of a raised dispute with PayPal.I placed an order for a book on Hickleys website, selected next day delivery by DPD. Ordered on the 15th December, which was a Sunday so did not expect anything until the Tuesday but here we are 9th January and still no order. Tried to communicate with them and no response.
Only take my car to Bridgwater Hickleys and no-where else. Les, the mechanic, is old school, very fair and very knowledgeable. He doesn’t fail a car on its MOT unless absolutely necessary. I don’t trust anyone else but him to look at my car.
I have been a Locksmith for nearly 15 years and during that time I have used Hickleys for a couple of training courses, I buy keys from them and use their technical support. I actually think I would be struggling without the support of their excellent tech support guys. Anyone looking to get into locksmithing should make Hickleys their first stop.
After a minor prang I booked my car in to HIckleys Bridgwater to get tail light and panel fixed. Had to wait a week for an appointment. Then the part they ordered was wrong( although this was probably not their fault.) When I went to collect the car and book it in again, I had to wait over 10 minutes for any staff to even appear in the shop. Finally I was told " we don't do body work and never have!" (I'm sure I've had body work done there before as it's the only car mechanics I have used since moving to Bridgwater. They used to go above and beyond, helped me out in difficult circumstances, but have recently gone severely down hill. I don't think I'll be using them again.
Extremely expensive charging top labour rates on average (£80/hour) and 3 times the amount for parts replaced according to eurocar parts, multiple delays ( it took 3 weeks to fix from quote to final payment ). The diesel shop was friendly but lied for the business as I have found out afterwards. They tried telling me my car was worth a certain amount to make the investment sound more desirable, when really it was over half the value of my car and not worth the amount. I would advise challenging there quotes with other businesses, they are not worth the extra money. Ensure you value you car, so they do not try bluffing you. To conclude, they did replace the one component successfully but I am clearly not happy with my experience and will be advising anyone who asks to stay clear.
