This is a truly great instrument that looks good, conveniently light and is accurate. It takes an electronic reading every two hours in complete silence, without feeling, is accurate and works constantly for 24 hours. I frequently compare it with my usual analogue cuff and it is near enough comparable. I say near enough because the two differ in their method of recording blood pressure … but it is accurate. Communication with the company in Switzerland has been exemplary and they also changed my wrist band to a larger one at no cost because I flordered the standard size in error. Full marks for everything.
Device App: Well done. However, the BP chart should not adjust the scale to the maximum resolution. This is the typical engineer's approach. Not taking into consideration the patients emotion for health data. The chart scale should be fixed at least covering the range 60 - 160mmHg (stage 1 hypertension). So the optical image shows when you are in a lower range.
I like a lot of things about Aktiia. First of all, its easy to use it, and I didnt had any problems setting an account. The fact that I receive BP values during entire day is great so I have insights about trends in my BP on daily and weekly basis. Would like that I dont need to recalibrate it every month, but I dont see it as a huge problem because its only once per month. In general I am satisfied and would probably buy one for my dad as well.
Bought one over a year ago. The results are totally unreliable and change drastically based on each imposed monthly reset. You might get results from one reset to another showing up to 30 mhg of difference in a matter of minutes !! And this after a series of long unsuccessful tentatives to reset and waiting your time. The silicon plastic bracelet is of low quality and is quite difficult to strap. But the main issue is the results which are by bar not reliable compared to a real non gadget measurement device of real quality It’s expensive and although the talk about Swiss conception I not sure about the real country of fabrication.I bought it and I am the only person to be blamed for having bought
Worked perfectly for me. A few times trying to calibrate but its really easy to wear and forget about and the tracking every 2 hours seems to work. Would recommend from my experience. Better than periodic checking with a big cuff. You can also think about why your blood pressure may have changed in the daY.
Well, we have tried. The monitor is inconsistent. It measures low, and there are vast periods when it doesn’t bother at all. I’ve tried to engage with the support folks at Aktiia, but as soon as they realised there were problems they shut conversations down. We waited six months and tried again, but same poor results. Can’t possibly recommend it, except as a toy, to be quickly discarded. Such a disappointment. A GP today laughed when we said we had it: “don’t bother” he said. I have to agree. Disappointing that a Prof from Imperial College should put his name to it.
