She was very professional yet also very approachable and able to explain more complex savings strategies and government changes so that my mother and I could feel confident in our decisions. I recently had a complex international payment to process involving coordination between the UK and Hong Kong branches, and Andy the manager at the HSBC Guildford branch went far beyond what anyone could expect.

From the start, they took full ownership of the issue, spending a significant amount of time communicating directly with the Hong Kong branch staff to resolve hurdles, clarify requirements, and ensure everything moved smoothly. This wasn’t a quick fix, it involved multiple calls, follow-ups, and patience through what could have been frustrating delays.

Their dedication, expertise, and genuine care made what felt like a daunting cross-border payment process straightforward and stress-free. They didn’t just follow standard procedures; they advocated for us, chased updates, and kept us informed every step of the way.

It’s rare to experience this level of personal service in banking today, and it completely turned around my view of HSBC. Huge thanks to Andy (and Erika from the team) at Guildford, you made a real difference, and I’m so grateful.

Highly recommend visiting the Guildford branch if you need help with anything international or complicated. Thank you again!
