During my online test, I got a proctor from india who was, first of all, hard to understand and, secondly, not able to read my ID details properly, even though previously during my speaking exam I had absolutely no problem with that. So with this way, I would like to thank him and IELTS for ruining my possible master's studies. THANK YOU!
I experienced total disappointment. On the day of my speaking test, I had connection issues twice. Despite ensuring everything was functioning properly on my end and completing all necessary tests, the exam portal crashed as I joined the video call. They allow three attempts, so I was understandably anxious about the third try. I managed to join the meeting, but the examiner's audio was not working. I confirmed that the issue was not from my side, yet the meeting was ended, wasting my final attempt. I contacted the support team to explain that the technical difficulties were not my fault, but they insisted on the three-attempt policy and said I would need to schedule a new test since they couldn't issue a refund. I've now spent over 250€ on a test I couldn't take due to their errors, and they refuse to refund or offer another attempt. This is completely unacceptable.
This is an absolute scam. On the day of my speaking test, I faced connection issues twice. Despite ensuring everything was fine on my end and completing all the necessary tests, the exam portal shut down as soon as I joined the video call with the examiner. They allow three attempts, and understandably, I was anxious about connecting again. I finally managed to join the meeting, but the examiner's audio was not working. I confirmed it wasn't my fault, yet the examiner ended the meeting, wasting my final attempt. I contacted the support team to explain this, but they repeatedly stated that I only had three attempts and that I would need to book a new test since they couldn't issue a refund. I've now spent over 250€ on a test I couldn't take due to their mistakes, and they refuse to refund or provide another attempt. This is completely unacceptable.
This seems nothing more than a profit-driven scheme. It's well known that to reliably pass this exam, candidates are expected to pay for a mentor to guide them on structuring the written portion. This is a convenient way to increase revenue—candidates already pay a high fee for the test, only to be required to pay even more for mentoring to succeed. What credible institution demands test-takers sign a declaration prohibiting them from requesting a corrected copy of their exam or an explanation of their grade? If the process were fair and transparent, providing that information shouldn't be an issue—unless the goal is to push people into retaking the exam for more profit. Additionally, what kind of organization makes exam results disappear after two years, as if the test never occurred? I understand results may expire, but that doesn't justify refusing to acknowledge that the exam was taken or that a grade was earned. That information is factual and was paid for. Unless, of course, the intent is to encourage candidates to pay for another attempt.
Charging £170 for a single test re-mark is a blatant scam and an exploitation of people's situations. How can four tests cost around £250 while a single re-mark is nearly the same price? There is also ZERO transparency regarding the process. It's in their interest NOT to change marks as that would require issuing refunds. This clearly appears to be a quick money-making scheme. The reviews speak for themselves.
They canceled my exams twice, claiming I had 'incorrect or insufficient personal information,' despite my information being correct and complete. When I reached out for a refund, they offered no solutions and kept repeating that my passport was invalid when it was valid! I've lost 500€ due to their no refund policy.
Many people have said this before, but I will reiterate: they are thieves. I paid for an online test and completed it without issues, but days later, they informed me that my results were permanently withheld due to alleged cheating, which I did not do, and they provided no evidence when I requested it. They simply refused to give me my results without reason and had the audacity to suggest I appeal, but they charge an additional fee for that.
I registered for the exam about 20 days in advance. However, just one day before the scheduled date, I received a notification that my test had been canceled—with no option to reschedule or receive a refund. Initially, I was told it was due to missing profile information, then later informed it was because I am from Cuba. This limitation was not made clear during the registration process.
My test was canceled without a refund because I did not upload my passport at least 48 hours before the test. If this is mandatory, why wasn't this step included in the registration process? It seems they make registration easy just to collect more money, given their poor refund policy. If no refund is issued within five weeks of the test date, why does it matter when the passport is uploaded? It appears that testing institutions are exploiting their monopoly, and it genuinely feels like a scam. I cannot recommend them.
