Did the 10 day Vietnam Northbound with Intrepid and I
highly recommend this tour. Our guide Ha was just fantastic, fun, organised and knowledgeable. The range of experiences and hotels were well chosen and the pace of the trip was just right, not too rushed and we saw lots of ancient sites, experienced many fun activities and tasted delicious food. Vietnam is a brilliant country in which to travel, we felt safe and welcome in every city and village that we visited.
I was on the Suth to North tour of Vietnam, and all I can say is it was absolutely fantastic. I met so many lovely people, and I especially liked the fact that we were only 11. Our tour guide, BB could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable in everything Vietnam.
Probably the thing that impressed me the most was how many experiences we had within a 10-day period. There were so many experiences that we had, I know for a fact I would never have done on my own, especially because I was a Solo Traveler. I would not hesitate to book another tour with Intrepid! Thank you so much for the beautiful memories that I will cherish forever.
I participated in a 14-day cycle tour recently. We were well supported by a truck for the bikes and an air-conditioned bus for transportation. After riding, we were well catered for with snacks and drinks. Our guide was experienced and spoke good English, but at times seemed a bit weary of the job. Overall, the experience had its ups and downs.
We just returned from an unforgettable 18-day journey through Morocco. During our stay in the High Atlas Mountains at a homestay, I misplaced my wallet. Luckily, I had a tracking card in it, which allowed me to inform our guide of its location. Despite his thorough searches, it wasn't until a local found it and notified our guide that arrangements were made for my wallet to be sent back to Marrakech. It's now on its way to Australia. The team and their guides truly go above and beyond to ensure our holiday exceeded our expectations. Thank you!
I participated in a group tour that was booked through a travel service. I understood that 'local charm' might mean fewer Western comforts, particularly in remote areas. However, our experience revealed significant concerns regarding basic health, safety, and professional standards. Issues with accommodations included slippery tiled bathrooms, exposed wiring, blocked plumbing, lack of hot water, unclean linens, and inadequate heating in winter conditions. This isn't about luxury—it's about minimum acceptable standards. Additionally, food arrangements often left travelers reliant on guide-selected venues, leading to gastrointestinal issues for some. The most alarming incident occurred during a guided walk on unsafe paths, disregarding the safety of elderly participants. The contrast I experienced when booking independently was significant; accommodations were safer and more welcoming. Local authenticity should not come at the cost of traveler safety. I strongly advise potential travelers to research carefully before booking.
As a solo traveler, I've always appreciated the camaraderie of the groups I've traveled with, prioritizing safety first by the team. The local team leader adds significant value, allowing for ample free time to explore independently, and they're always willing to provide recommendations if needed. The accommodations are centrally located, convenient, clean, and safe. I am excited to embark on many more journeys with the company.
