Horrible service..

Horrible service... Horrible customer service... Horribles installation with nothing but problems. Customer Service has disregarded all of our issues when we called, and didn't even note the complaints we had. I called to get a tech to fix a break thats' been happening for years. They just ghosted me with no response and told me to get a third party to look at it. been using them for yeras and it's just been horrible all the way around.

My energy bills went UP!!!

ION Solar is so incompetent that solar panels sat on my roof for 4 months without being approved for use. The 1st bill for my panel lease had to be paid IN ADDITION to the monthly energy bill! The Sales guy never gave any indication that my costs could go up. They lied to me about the status of the submitted application (they said more documents were requested when in reality the application was rejected!) and the Sales guy only repeated the typical time it takes to get approved - without actually doing anything to progress the matter. 16 weeks 'is unusual' he would say. Regret selecting ION Solar and do not recommend.

Do Not Use Ion Solar

Do Not Use Ion Solar! A Three-Month Nightmare and Counting. My experience with Ion Solar has been an absolute disaster, and I strongly advise against using their services. What should have been a straightforward second solar installation has turned into a three-month-long nightmare of incompetence, poor communication, and unresolved issues. Our ordeal began in early May with the first of many rescheduled appointments due to "unavailable parts." The actual installation started on May 13th, only for the crew to realize they had the wrong size breaker box after working all day. This was the beginning of a frustrating cycle of canceled appointments, often with little to no notice. We were repeatedly asked to prepare for a significant power outage that never happened, causing major disruptions to our schedules and my wife's business, which she runs from our garage. The communication has been abysmal. Despite having pre-approved HOA documents, we received redundant requests for them. A senior project manager was assigned to our case, but this has not improved the situation. She has canceled appointments, sent irrelevant texts, and even referenced the wrong solar company on multiple occasions. Her proposed solution to our significant inconvenience was a meager gift card for dinner. To make matters infinitely worse, we recently discovered that our existing solar panels were turned off on May 14th, the very first day the Ion crew was on-site. This means that during the hottest months of the year, we have been without our primary source of solar energy, leading to an unexpectedly high utility bill. When I brought this to the project manager's attention, she had the audacity to claim it was my fault for not noticing sooner. As of today, July 14th, our new solar panels are still not installed. Our garage has been left with large, unrepaired holes in the drywall and cracked stucco from the work that was done.We chose Ion Solar for a second time because our first experience was so positive. This time, however, has been a complete and utter failure on every level. The lack of planning, poor execution, and dismissive customer service are appalling. These last three months have been hell. Do not make the same mistake we did. Do not use Ion Solar.

Do NOT choose Ion Solar

We had solar panels installed in late summer 2024. Fast forward to the first rainy season since having them installed and we have water pouring into our living room. Right under where the panels and equipment are installed. I contacted a roofing company who said our roof is in good condition and he saw no issue there and suggested I contact the solar company (which I already suspected was the issue). I call them on a Tuesday, they can’t get anyone out until the following Monday. We book for 10:30am. Nobody shows up. After they’re already 1.5 hours late, I call and spend 30 minutes on hold with customer service. All he can tell me is they are running late and they’ll be another 2 hours. They finally show up when I am supposed to be in a work meeting, I had arranged my morning to accommodate their arrival but not my afternoon expecting them to be gone already. They look in the attic and said everything was fine without even looking on the roof or the side where a box was installed and the wire is running up. They tried to blame my washing machine. There are no leaks when we do laundry, only when it rains. They said they were going to go check things outside and before I know it, they left. Made no attempt to come tell me what they saw, or come up with a plan to fix the damage they caused. Just left. Please, whatever you do… stay away from Ion Solar. I don’t know how we are going to get this leak fixed. I don’t know how we are going to get the water damage repaired. Homeowners insurance doesn’t cover damage from solar panels. Do your research and choose the right company. Ion Solar is not that.

The worst Solar company who just rip you off for the solar panels that seldom work

The worst Solar company you can ever find on this earth. They make false promises and rip you off. They first of all don't do a good job of installation. Since it will be on the roof, none of us can easily go and verify their work. They will first make us start paying money, do not ensure if it is working but just start taking money. They will tell that we have to wait one month to know if it is working. Since they will have not done a good job, it will not work well, then they will say they will send a technician for site visit and schedule it after 2 weeks. The date of visits will be "at least" one month away so you will lose 2.5 months of non- working panels. After 2.5 months on the day technician is supposed to visit, there is no guarantee that they will visit. It is only 50% probability. If they visit, then they will find the issue and ask us to schedule another appointment to fix it. On the day of fixing which is again after "at least" one month, if the technician shows up, they will come up with a wonderful reason to not fix and but just charge us. So to fix the mistake they have done, they charge us.When selling it, they say that any damage occurs they will come and fix it immediately free is charge and nothing to worry about it for 30 years.. but not even 3 months the system worked properly but took all the money completely. They are BIGGEST CHEATERS, SWINDLERS AND fraudsters. I have lost my money.. please message me if you want to know what I have been going through due to ION SOLAR 's most negligent irresponsible service Until you sign up for them, they will be so sweet and helpful, they make you believe that they are the best ones on this earth. As soon as you sign up, they just don't care even if the entire system is broken due to their negligence. They just say "oh unfortunately we cannot do it".. that's all. They are scammers.. please please don't fall for their trap

Unreliable system and horrible customer service

I would look elsewhere if you are interested in solar. We have had our system for 5 years. It has stopped producing 3 separate times. Never notified by the ION. If I didn’t look at the apps on a regular basis I would never know, except I guess when I have to pay for both the panels and now my electric bill. My system was out for about 2 weeks - 2/23 was last day of production. I called on 3/6 to ask about it and get service. At that time, customer service said they would call back to schedule. I never received a call back from them. I had to recall customer service on 3/12. They then said they will schedule once a prepay the $250 service invoice and would not schedule until the invoice was fully cleared. I made the payment and the invoice cleared by 3/14. On 3/19 I still hadn’t heard from anyone at ION. I called again and they said they would get with the scheduling department and that my account would be marked as “high priority” and should receive a call in a day or two on getting something scheduled. I just received a text, not a call, that I’m scheduled for 3/31. I am flabbergasted with the horrendous customer service from this company. I haven’t been producing since 2/24 and they aren’t coming out to “look” at it for well past a month. They can’t keep my system up and running, don’t notify you when it is down, make you pay for service before it is performed, then if you are lucky schedule you 2 weeks out if you are a priority client… would hate to be a non-priority that is probably a few months out. Its great that you have to pay for the panels as well as electricity during this time. Stay away from ION, go with someone else.

Rudest salesperson I've ever dealt with.

We were getting into the car when they walked up, "Oh, headed to the pool?""Yep."But then, rather than a simple, "Sounds fun, have a good time," the sales person instead hit us with, "Okay, I be quick."The complete disregard for our time contained in those four words made my blood boil, so I told him to leave. He just stood there feigning incredulity. He wasn't being inconsiderate by preventing us from leaving, I was being unreasonable by not disrupting my plans to listen to him. I repeated several times for him to leave my house and his reaction was the same each time. Finally I yelled at him to leave and asked, "How are you not understanding this?" He then had the gaul to say that I was the one being rude.

They have bad infosec

They have bad infosec. They were sending my personally identifiable information to the personal email address of someone who was no longer employed there. When I brought this to them, saying that I wanted it resolved before continuing, they cancelled my contract, told me they were charging me $3000 for a cancellation fee, and threatened legal action if I didn't pay. The contract says I pay if *I* cancel. One of their exec level folks called me and insisted that they have no responsibility to protect the personal information of clients. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.

Ion Solar has the worst sales culture

Ion Solar has the worst sales culture! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not disturb people who have clearly placed No Soliciting signs. No clue if you have a great product but STOP BOTHERING PEOPLE AT THEIR HOMES who have asked you not to. I have requested several times since 2023 to be on your Do Not Knock list. So please don’t tell me to ask again!Their door to door sales people have harassed me so much at home with clearly posted No Soliciting signs that I actually got Ion Solar to buy me a large red NO SOLICITING sign last summer. I escalated multiple complaints to them each time a sales rep disregarded our clearly posted signage.I am completely at a loss as to why an Ion Solar sales rep knocked on my door just now. Walked past a giant bright red no soliciting sign that blocks my walkway, didn't regard the additional No soliciting sign on my door and proceeded to knock anyways. Will be reporting this again to Better Business Bureau, FTC and their corporate headquarters. I get you need to make a living and I have respect for sales people and solar power but stop interrupting me at home!Ion Solar - What are you doing systemically to address this issue?

Thieves.

They created a roof leak during installation. Then wanted us to buy new panels to replace the ones that had to come off for the repairs which they denied causing (took several visits for them to be convinced).
