Review Time
I think you’ll notice that the majority of these reviews are from people thanking their “tutor” for “helping them” complete the course.Your tutor will be the person “guiding you” through the program. By “guiding,” I mean giving you generic responses you could easily find on Google or ChatGPT (which is most likely where they get their answers before copying and pasting them to you). The reviews mentioning job offers after their IT course are scarce — and there’s a reason for that. They’re not banking on you actually getting a job. If it happens, great. If not, they still get to keep a percentage of what you paid, claiming it’s for the exam fees. In reality, they are affiliated with CompTIA and get exam vouchers much cheaper than a regular person could. So even on the exam side, they still make money. But the real moneymaker for them is their course packages and strict timelines. In their IT program, you’ll pay around £1,100 (the cheapest package) for 8 courses with about 1,000 videos. None of these videos are recorded by them, they’re outsourced from other course providers, a bit like putting together YouTube playlists on different subjects but from the same channel. The videos are dull and feel like mental torture, taught by people who sound genuinely uninterested in teaching. You’ll be given 2 years to complete these 1,000+ videos. The salesperson who contacts you will try to convince you it’s totally possible to do alongside a full-time job, even if you have zero experience. Good luck retaining all that information if you’ve never studied IT before.Once you’ve somehow made it through all these courses (I managed it only because I had a lot of free time), they’ll require you to sit several internal exams on their portal, complete labs, and then take another set of internal exams from an external partner, all before you can start the actual relevant CompTIA mock exams. If you fail these internal tests, you don’t progress to the “job” stage. If you’re pacing yourself to finish near the end of the 2 years, this extra exam process, most of which is irrelevant to your CompTIA certification, will drag things out even longer. Which they dont mind as it means you most likely wont complete the entire program in time and they make more profit (keep reading i will explain how)The reality is that IT Career Switch seems to put enough barriers in place so fewer students make it to the recruitment stage. This means less competition among the students they do try to place, and less effort on their part to actually get you hired. If you fail to complete the program, they keep all your money. Yes, all of it. For what exactly? For your “tutor” giving AI-generated answers, and for videos they didn’t even make themselves. But this how they make a good chunk of their money.Their business model in a nutshell:Sign up — You’re given impressive figures and promises by a sales or marketing rep to make you believe this is the best program available and that you’ll be guaranteed a job. If he/she feels your being apprehensive or thinking too much about it. They will pressure you later on by saying its limited space so in essence you need to hurry.Overwhelmed? — Struggle with the massive number of videos or fail to finish in time? They keep all your money. No refund.Fail internal exams? — Many of these tests are irrelevant to your actual CompTIA certification. Fail them and you don’t reach the recruitment stage. They keep your money here too. They can’t place you? — You’re on your own. They give you a “partial refund,” deducting exam fees (which they actually get at a discount), so they’ve still made a profit from doing almost nothing.Don’t fall into this trap. You’re much smarter than that. You just need a bit of self-belief to learn the material, earn your certifications, and apply for roles yourself.I recommend:Professor Messer’s CompTIA courses — free on YouTubeDion’s CompTIA mock exams — on UdemyProfessor Messer’s mock examsPractice them until you know them like the back of your hand, and you’ll be ready to go.You can AI generate a CV be requesting it to generate an "ATS-friendly CV with a high score" after you submit your generic CV on chat gpt. Then mass apply on reed, linked in and indeed. For anyone who thinks im lying....sign up for yourself and lets see. Their response is going to be some corporate nonsense denying or circumventing the facts. i dare you to sign up for this program yourself and highlight t one lie for yourself. It wouldve felt wrong to not say anything and watch countless of lost people getting dragged into this. Take on my advice. REPLY AND UPDATE: like stated before. If anything i have said is a lie. Come see for yourself. And i am ignoring their emails and calls because theyll try make me an offer to take it down. I stand for what is right, the truth.
