I signed up to my course in March 2025 and unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances was unable to start it due to a loss in the family. I reached out to Lana who was prompt with her replies and more helpful than I could’ve ever imagined. Not only with the course but with moral support. In my difficult situation she was able to grant me an extension on my course and I can’t thank her enough for her help during such a difficult time. Those IT Career Switch are always so keen to help and I look forward to now being able to crack on with the course.
I am currently 5 weeks into the recruitment stage of the Coding/ Software Developer traineeship. I completed the course in roughly 4 months from March to July, getting 90% on the exam and completing the two practical projects relatively quickly.While I really enjoyed the course content (delivered through Codecademy) I am finding that the recruitment support is not as substantial as advertised (which obviously is a large reason for buying the course). When I was sold the course I was told that IT Career Switch had a network of partner companies that interviews were arranged with - I haven’t been put in contact with any company as of yet. I do understand that the Web Development job market has shrunk recently and this could be a big factor, however this is not being communicated to me and when I ask about the referrals by email I have not had a reply.My recruitment mentor (Jade) is lovely and she has provided interview guidance for the interviews I have had through my own applications, as well as sending job listings once a week (although quite a lot of these are not relevant to me, eg. have requirements for 3+ years experience, .NET experience etc.). Ultimately though, these are the two pieces of support that are provided. My suspicion is that there is a reliance on you getting a job yourself.This has been my experience so far and I will post an overall review at the end of the whole process.
