It may be a small thing to you but lying?

I placed my first order here after accidentally landing on the site while looking for some information on a fetish necklace I got from an estate. I ordered a pair of earrings a couple of beads and a 14k gold ring that was listed for 2.50. I figured I would get it and it would end up plated but instead, when I opened my package I saw the amount had been refunded and the reason was that it was out of stock. On a hunch I checked the website and it was NOT out of stock... Instead it seems the ring had been listed at 2.50 on error and now it was for sale for 250.00!! I myself have a small retail shop and I would not have done that, I would have just sucked up the loss and known that customer would probably be back many times as well as sent people my way! This is not a struggling business that a mistake like this would have bankrupted them, just cheap and sneaky. I don't know about retail in general but if a car dealer lists a car at a certain price, say by mistake, and someone comes and intends to buy it after seeing this price (with cash at least) the dealer is bound by law to sell it at this advertised price. Anyway what really made me write this was the sneaky "out of stock". Lying is a bad practice, I would have appreciated a note saying "sorry, this was listed at the wrong price; however please get 1 item for 50% off on next purchase" or even better same statement about error and refunding me 50% off the purchase I had made. I will be getting these 14k post earrings checked now to make sure they are as stated, and that will cost me but, how can I just blindly take their word for it after seeing how sneaky they are when they make a mistake??? Also shipping took a long time.
