We were recommended Peter as our Mortgage Advisor and we're so pleased with the service! As first-time buyers, we really needed support and guidance and we feel Peter went above and beyond for us! It took us 6 months from getting our mortgage in principle to completing, and Peter was constantly there for us, looking for better rates, sorting out an offer extension, or anything else we needed. JLM also helped us with our mortgage and income protection; they made a daunting process very simple, and we're so grateful! Can't recommend them enough!
Ryan Waters has been excellent once again, this is my second or third time using JLM Mortgages and every time Ryan has provided excellent customer service going an extra mile in helping with challenges that came up with me buying my new shared ownership home. Ryan without your help I don’t think I would be settling into this fabulous new home of mine so thank you so so much for the extra support that you and your team provided. I will be in touch in the future but no more buying just remortgage. Thanks again for everything.
Ryan from JLM Mortgage Services was amazing at talking us through different mortgage options and provided clear and thoughtful advice. He was easy to get in touch with, was always happy to talk, and we really valued his input. We’ll definitely be using Ryan in the future when remortgaging comes around.
I have been in contact with JLM and more specifically Ryan for around 2 years.Despite the huge length of time and several iterations of an MIP that had to be drawn up and thrown away as situations changed, Ryan was consistently professional, knowledgable, helpful and positive. We have finally crossed the line and I can’t say enough good things about the service I received throughout.I would wholeheartedly recommend Ryan in particular and JLM generally to anyone I know looking for a mortgage. Your work and patience is greatly appreciated!
I have been dealing with a man called Andrew Steinbach from 17/12/24 to 30/01/25 during which he proved to have no expertise, no plan, and no strategy to deal with my mortgage case.Having my Nationwide mortgage refused by a surveyor as the house was built from "pre-cast concrete", I called other high street banks, which confirmed they also categorically refuse loans for this type of construction. I took advice from two mortgage advisors, and then I was directed to the third one, Andrew, by the seller.Ander said he knows the owners "and the house". However, I had a very bad opinion of him from the very beginning, as Steinbach was overconfident, not listening, not taking my preferences under consideration (trying to force me to take a long-term mortgage as if he was deaf I got a high deposit and a high paying job), which led me to the conclusion he has a problem with me as a successful migrant woman. Despite my reluctance towards small lenders, he insisted on making an unfavorable application with Accord Mortgages, the company another advisor from Mojo confirmed as not issuing loans for "pre-cast concrete". Nevertheless, Andrew made it, but it took him from 18/12/24 to 6/01/25!!!: constantly made excuses why he was not available ("off", "Christmas", "family arrived"). We were supposed to have a call, but he kept postponing it from 21st till 30th Dec '24. Wtf was this man doing if making a mortgage application takes 30min!? They applied with Accord only on the 9th Jan 2025.And guess what? 16/01 Accord REJECTED it. The entire month was wasted, because the normal person would do this application before Christmas, not in the 2nd week of January 0_0.Steinbach's next ingenious idea was to apply with Santander to which I reminded him I'd already told him that I had called Santander before I met Andrew and they're not lending for "pre-cast concrete". I also showed him news that Santander will depart from the UK market; after that, he kept silent, then proposed I call Lloyds to remove some pennies unpaid charges from my credit record because "it'll boost your credit score immediately" (the score he screwed himself). And guess what? They didn't! Lloyds also confirmed that an overdraft made after the account closure cannot be removed. As you can see, 100% of what this man told me was wrong. He proved to have not enough knowledge, plan, or strategy to deal with my mortgage. His moves are chaotic, uniformed, and uncoordinated, he can't even stick to the hour he proposed to call. Steinbach wasted two months of our lives: the house is back on the market, sellers lost their dream countryside purchase, and I ended up with a destroyed credit score - all due to his incompetence.
