Review Time
I moved my family over to CrowdHealth almost a year ago. Best decision I ever made! My monthly cost before was over $1,500 and I had a $7,000 deductible, plus copayments for everything afterward. Since CrowdHealth, we are saving so much money. I have used them for reimbursement, for myself and my daughter, and the process is easy and smooth. I highly recommend this for anyone — everyone.
Transparent - low cost. Haven't needed to have anything reimbursed - other than just to see the process I had them reimburse the low cost of labs to qualify for a healthy user discount. But I've seen patients who needed to be reimbursed and it happened the way it's supposed to happen. I'm a satisfied Physician enrolled with crowdhealth who also recommends it as a great option for many of my patients.
Crowdhealth is great unless you need help with surgery. I need hernia surgery. Crowdhealth tells me to go to a certain doc. after months of trying to get the estimate from the doc, Crowdhealth tells me it's too much, based on their "fair market analysis". So THEY send me to another doctor. Now this doctor is too high for them. meanwhile both doctors cost $300 each and 2 days off of work. Now they're saying I have to go to a doctor several states away or I have to get surgery. So, I've lost 2 days of work (I do not get paid to take off), $600 in doctors visits and they tell me the doctors THEY sent me to are too high and I have to go to a doc 5 hours away for surgery. I went from praising them to completely disgusted with them. My rep is amazing but his hands are tied. F this company. surgery is $12-$15,000 and they will only give me $8,000 and will not pay me for the wasted days off and doctors visits they MADE me do.
My family and I have used crowdhealth for the last three years and have had such a wonderful experience. From preventative care to surgery - crowdhealth has been amazing. I am so grateful not to deal with insurance. We save so much money AND we get to be part of the crowd and fund other members bills. I recommend crowdhealth to everyone! It’s NOT the same as insurance and I think that can be confusing for some people. It’s a good thing it’s not like insurance, it’s better.
I absolutely love CrowdHealth and am so happy I joined 4 months ago. I originally joined knowing that I want to get pregnant soon and love that this company supports births outside of a hospital. However, I tore my ACL a month after joining and it has been SO supportive. With traditional insurance we would have had to pay $3k+, but with CrowdHealth we’re only responsible for $500. They’re super on top of reimbursing us for anything over the first $500 that we paid (of course, with me also being on top of uploading detailed receipts to my portal). It even covers the acupuncture I’ve been getting to support my knee healing process! Rachel, specifically, has been extremely communicative and helpful in this process. I’m so grateful open enrollment is approaching, as my husband and I will both be dropping traditional insurance and he’s also joining CrowdHealth. We LOVE knowing that our monthly “health insurance payment” is going to others in need vs into the pockets of big corporations/big pharma! I highly recommend CrowdHealth and we’ll both be forever members.
Huge shoutout to my advocate, Taryn, for tirelessly helping me locate providers, upload and figure out all of my bills, and ensuring my correct reimbursement! She literally makes me feel as if I am the only person she is advocating for and is so warm and friendly throughout the process. So far, throughout my pregnancy, Crowdhealth has followed through on all of its guarantees of support and reimbursement. It's slightly more work than insurance, sure, but I love knowing where my monthly premium is going and that actual humans are saying "yes" to my funding requests. Love engaging in an intentional practice of disrupting medical inflation and suspect big-insurance practices in America. Go Crowdhealth.
I recently left my job to start a business, and with that came losing traditional health insurance coverage. I had heard about CrowdHealth on the DarkHorse podcast. I thought it sounded like what healthcare should be, I pay for the smaller, routine visits, and the CrowdHealth community helps fund any unexpected events after I pay a portion towards it. Less than a month into my membership, I broke my ankle. Dusty and Rachel from CrowdHealth helped me navigate finding a doctor who takes self-pay patients, what to ask for as to estimates, and funding - they even helped me pre-fund my surgery, so I don't have to pay thousands out of pocket and then wait to be reimbursed. They are superstars and have been so much easier to work with than traditional insurance. There are numerous ways to get in touch, and I've always been able to talk with someone via phone, text or email within 24 hours of contacting them.I like that my money goes directly towards helping other members and for great advocates and partners like Dusty and Rachel. This is what insurance should be, a group of people helping each other when the unexpected happens, not the bureaucratic mess insurance often becomes. I will be recommending CrowdHealth to everyone going forward, but especially to those without traditional health insurance.
It's impossible to describe how secure I feel knowing my family is covered by the crowd vs. insurance companies. The transparency is unrivaled and the support throughout any event, big or small, is unparalleled. Thank you so much to the crowd!
